COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The King this afternoon received the Hon Dr Christopher Kalila MP (Chairman of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association) and Mr Stephen Twigg (Secretary-General).

Ms Lindy Cameron was received in audience by The King upon her appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of India.

Sir Alexander Ellis was received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon his appointment as His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and non-resident Ambassador to the Principality of Andorra.

Lady Ellis was also received by His Majesty.

Mr Gregory Peters (Usher of the Black Rod of the Senate of Canada) was received by The King when a new Ceremonial Sword was bestowed by His Majesty.

Ms Raymonde Gagné (Speaker of the Senate of Canada) was present.

The King held a Council at 4.15 p.m..

There were present: the Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Patrick McFadden MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster), the Rt Hon Ian Murray MP (Secretary of State for Scotland) and the Rt Hon Angela Rayner MP (Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government).

At the Council, The King pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of England (other than Cornwall and those in the Duchy of Lancaster) and Wales.

After the Council, the Rt Hon Patrick McFadden MP had an audience of The King when His Majesty pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of the Duchy of Lancaster.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance.

The Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP had an audience of His Majesty before the Council.

Later, the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The King.

His Majesty this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Members of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Senior Network.

The Queen, Joint Patron, the Jockey Club, today attended the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Mr Edward Gillespie).

The King was represented by the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Dean of His Majesty’s Chapels Royal) at the Funeral of the Reverend John Robson (Extra Chaplain to His Majesty) which was held at The King’s Chapel of the Savoy, Savoy Hill, London WC2, this morning.

By command of His Majesty, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency the Hon Philip Goff at 1 Pall Mall East, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester today attended a Service of Dedication to those who served in Two World Wars from the Commonwealth at Nottingham City War Memorial, Victoria Embankment, Nottingham, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (Professor Veronica Pickering).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Luncheon for the Nottinghamshire Lieutenancy Commonwealth Group at Welbeck Hall, Welbeck Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Himmah food bank, Unit 4, Forest Court, Gamble Street, Nottingham.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, Adjutant General’s Corps, this morning received Lieutenant General Ivan Jones upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Lieutenant General Charles Collins upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, Royal President, the Children’s Society, this afternoon received Mr Mark Russell (Chief Executive), Ms Nerys Anthony (Executive Director of Youth Impact) and Mr Joseph Jenkins (Executive Director of Social Impact).
