COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The King, as Sovereign of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, this morning attended the Three Hundredth Anniversary Service in Westminster Abbey and was present at the Ceremony of Installation of the Prince of Wales as the Great Master and of Knights of the Most Honourable Order which took place in King Henry VII’s Chapel, the Chapel of the Order.

The King was represented by the Earl of Airlie, KT at a Service of Thanksgiving for the Dowager Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne which took place at St Fergus Kirk, Glamis, Angus, this afternoon.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were represented by the Earl of Dalhousie.

The Princess Royal was represented by Mrs David Bowes-Lyon.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, President, Devon County Show, today visited the Show at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary, near Exeter, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this morning attended the Joint Meeting of the Alliance of the Orders of St John and the Sovereign Order of Malta at St John’s Gate, St John’s Lane, Clerkenwell, London EC1.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Museum of the Order of St John, St John’s Gate.

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this evening held a Dinner at the Orangery, Kensington Palace.

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended the Not Forgotten Association Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

The King’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Band of the Irish Guards played selections of music during the afternoon.
