His Majesty received Sir Mark Jones upon relinquishing his appointment as Director of the British Museum and Mr Nicholas Cullinan upon assuming the appointment.

The King, Visitor, the Royal College of Art, received Dr Paul Thompson upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice Chancellor.

His Majesty, Patron, the Royal Academy of Arts, received Ms Rebecca Salter (President) and Ms Natasha Mitchell (Secretary and Chief Executive).

Mr John Barnes (Chief Executive, Historic Royal Palaces) was received by The King.

His Majesty, Patron, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, received Sir Andrew Cahn upon his appointment as Chairman of Trustees.

Ms Janice Lopatkin (Chairman, Refugee Employment Network) was received by The King.

His Majesty, Patron, the Royal Parks, received Sir Loyd Grossman upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman.

Kensington Palace

Prince William, the Duke of Rothesay, and The Duchess of Rothesay this afternoon visited BAE Systems Naval Ships Applied Shipbuilding Academy, 1471 South Street, Scotstoun, when Her Royal Highness named HMS Glasgow, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Jacqueline McLaren, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

St James’s Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited “the Campbell Watson” lifeboat at North Pier, Oban, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute (Mrs Jane MacLeod).

Their Royal Highnesses later visited Kerrera Marina, Isle of Kerrera, and were received by Mr Neil Matheson (Deputy Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute).

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh afterwards visited Kerrera Community Woodlands.

Their Royal Highnesses later visited Kerrera Old School Community Hub.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon visited Tigh An Truish, Isle of Seil.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited the Isle of Easdale and were received by Mrs Rachel Ross (Deputy Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute).

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh later visited the Atlantic Islands Centre, Cullipool, Isle of Luing, and were received by Mr Andrew Campbell (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute).

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal President, the Children’s Society, this afternoon visited Pause, 21 Digbeth, Birmingham, and was received by Mrs Louise Bennett (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands).

Her Royal Highness afterwards officially opened Edmonds Transplant Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Mindelsohn Way, Edgbaston, Birmingham, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Dr Derrick Anderson).
