The Duke of Edinburgh today carried out engagements in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
His Royal Highness, accompanied by the Governor-General of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea (Sir Robert Dadae), this morning presented new Colours to 1st Battalion The Royal Pacific Islands Regiment at Murray Barracks.
The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Adventure Park, 14 Mile, Sogeri Road.
His Royal Highness, accompanied by the Governor-General, this afternoon held an Investiture at Government House.
The Duke of Edinburgh later visited Wanigela village.
His Royal Highness this evening attended a State Dinner at APEC Haus to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of Papua New Guinea’s independence.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, this morning visited HM Prison Swaleside, Brabazon Road, Eastchurch, Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Lady Colgrain).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, English Rural Housing Association, this afternoon opened the Millbrook Development, Chequers Hill, Bough Beech, Edenbridge, Kent.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Christ’s Hospital, this afternoon received Mr Matthew Judd upon assuming his appointment of Head Teacher and Chief Executive Officer.
