The Queen, Patron, this afternoon attended The Queen’s Reading Room Festival at Chatsworth House, Bakewell, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mrs Elizabeth Fothergill).

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh today carried out the following engagements in Tokyo, accompanied by His Majesty’s Ambassador to Japan (Her Excellency Ms Julia Longbottom).

Their Royal Highnesses this morning attended a Musubi Initiative Reception at the Residence of His Majesty’s Ambassador, the British Embassy.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon called upon The Crown Prince and Princess of Japan at their Residence.

Their Royal Highnesses subsequently planted an oak sapling taken from the commemorative tree planted by The late Queen Elizabeth II during the State Visit to Japan in May 1975 in the garden of the Imperial Palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh later attended a Sumo Wrestling Tournament at Ryogoku Kokugikan National Sumo Arena, 1 Chome-3-28 Yokoami, Sumida City.

Their Royal Highnesses this evening called upon The Emperor and Empress of Japan at the Imperial Residence.
