Balmoral Castle
The Queen, Patron, The Queen’s Reading Room, this evening attended a Dinner for the Braemar Literary Festival, the Fife Arms, Mar Road, Braemar, Aberdeenshire.
The King was represented by Sir Richard Eyre (Director and Producer) at the Service of Celebration for Mr Timothy West (Actor), which was held at St James’s Church, 197 Piccadilly, London W1, this morning.
The Queen was represented by Dame Joanna Lumley.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended Celebrations for the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway at Locomotion, Shildon, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham (Dame Susan Snowdon).
His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Hopetown Darlington, McNay Street, Darlington, as a continuation of the Celebrations for the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway.
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal today unveiled a portrait of The King at the Scottish Parliament and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Lord Lyon Society, this afternoon attended a Reception at HM General Register House, 2 Princes Street, Edinburgh.
The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, later opened 154 (Scottish) Regiment Royal Logistic Corps’ Regimental Headquarters, Elgin Street, Dunfermline, and was received by Colonel James Kinloch (Deputy Lieutenant of Fife).
Her Royal Highness subsequently rededicated Dunfermline War Memorial, Monastery Street, Dunfermline, to mark its Centenary and was received by Mrs Fiona Robertson (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Fife).
The Princess Royal, Patron, the Vine Trust, this evening attended a Fortieth Anniversary Dinner at Babcock International, Rosyth Dockyard, Rosyth, Dunfermline.
