COURT CIRCULAR

Balmoral Castle

The King held a Council at Buckingham Palace at 3.15pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Sir Alan Campbell MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Darren Jones MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster), the Rt Hon Peter Kyle MP (Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade), the Rt Hon Edward Miliband MP (Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero), the Rt Hon Steven Reed MP (Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government) and the Rt Hon Wesley Streeting MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care).

The Rt Hon Peter Kyle MP made affirmation as Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance.

The Rt Hon Sir Alan Campbell MP had an audience of His Majesty before the Council.

Later, The President of the Republic of Fiji and Madam Emily Lalabalavu visited The King at Buckingham Palace.

The Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP had an audience of The King.

The King this evening held a Nature First Economy Reception at St James’s Palace.

The Queen, Joint Patron, Garden Museum, today visited the “Rory McEwen: Nature’s Song” Exhibition at the Museum, 5 Lambeth Palace Road, London SE1, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The King was represented by General Sir Roland Walker (Chief of the General Staff) at the Funeral of Field Marshal the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank (former Chief of the General Staff and Chief of the Defence Staff) which was held in Westminster Cathedral, London SW1, this afternoon.

The Queen was represented by Lieutenant General Sir James Bucknall.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Mr James Benbow.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were represented by Brigadier John Smedley.

The Princess Royal was represented by Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Major General Sir Christopher Ghika.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs Diane Duke.

Kensington Palace

The Prince and Princess of Wales this morning received The Crown Prince and Princess of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Windsor Castle.

The Prince of Wales and The Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan this afternoon visited Royal Air Force Benson, Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, President, UK Fashion and Textile Association, this morning visited British Wool, Pathfields Business Park, South Molton, to mark its Seventy Fifth Anniversary and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited LandWorks, Quarry Field Dartington Hall, Totnes, and was received by Commodore Jake Moores (Deputy Lieutenant of Devon).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Wetwheels Foundation, later visited Wetwheels Torbay at MDL Marina, Torquay, followed by a Reception at Otto Restaurant, 8 Vaughan Road, Torquay, and was received by Rear Admiral Christopher Snow (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Devon).

Her Royal Highness subsequently the visited Luminous Show Technology Limited, Unit 14, Apple Lane, Exeter.

The Princess Royal this evening attended a Reception given by the Woodland Trust at Admiralty House, HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, followed by at Trafalgar Dinner on board HMS Warrior and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, this afternoon held a Tea at Windsor Castle to commemorate the Thirty Fifth Anniversary of Canine Partners for Independence.
