COURT CIRCULAR

Villa Wolkonsky, Rome, Italy

The King and Queen left Farnborough Airport, Hampshire, this afternoon for the State Visit to the Holy See.

Their Majesties were received at the Airport by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

The King and Queen this evening arrived at Rome Ciampino Airport, Italy, and were received by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Holy See (His Excellency Mr Christopher Trott) and the Vatican City Head of Protocol (Monsignor Javier Domingo Fernandez).

Their Majesties arrived at the Residence in Rome and were received by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic and San Marino (His Excellency the Lord Llewellyn of Steep).

The following are in attendance: the Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton, Mr Theo Rycroft, Mr Tobyn Andreae, Ms Laura Sullivan, Dr Robert Powell, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson, Mrs Belinda Kim and Major Oliver Plunket.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Injured Jockeys Fund, this morning attended a Strategic Review Meeting at Peter O’Sullevan House, Newmarket Road, Newmarket, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mrs Julie Spence).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the British Racing School Newmarket Pony Academy, Snailwell Road, Newmarket.

The Princess Royal, Patron, later visited a Save the Children UK shop at 31 Flowergate, Whitby, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs Johanna Ropner).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, this evening attended the Angus Millar Lecture, followed by a Dinner, at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, 11 Queen Street, Edinburgh, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Kent this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Rubens at the Palace Hotel, 39 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1, to commemorate the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the Polish Cultural Foundation and was received by Mr Stuart Shilson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
