The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning attended the Argyllshire Gathering at Mossfield Park, Oban, on the occasion of the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Games and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute (Mrs Jane MacLeod).

Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Admiral Laurence, this afternoon visited Oban High School, Soroba Road, Oban.

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, afterwards visited community groups at Atlantis Leisure, 1 Dalriach Road, Oban, and was received by Mr Neil Matheson (Deputy Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute).

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) telephoned His Excellency Mr Guy Mayers this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for St Lucia in London.
