Buckingham Palace

The King, Captain General, this morning visited The Royal Regiment of Artillery at Larkhill Garrison, Wiltshire, and was received by the Master Gunner St James’s Park (Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Gregory).

His Majesty was received with a 21-Gun Salute from The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and a Royal Salute by a Guard of Honour.

The King met representatives from the Regiment’s Senior Leadership and other Serving Personnel before meeting those who have recently returned from Operations and their families.

His Majesty toured the Garrison and viewed equipment and the Regiment’s capabilities before meeting families outside the Officers’ Mess.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, Patron, the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, today presented the Duke of Cornwall Award at the Royal Cornwall Show, Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho).

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations, and Vice President, the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, today attended the Royal Cornwall Show, Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society, this afternoon opened the Caley Glasshouse at Saughton Park, Balgreen Road, Edinburgh, to mark the Bicentenary of the Royal Charter, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness this evening attended the Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen’s Masters and Prime Wardens of the London Livery Companies Reception followed by Dinner at Trinity Hall, Trinity Corner, Holburn Street, Aberdeen, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor David Cameron, the Lord Provost).

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Patron, Peace and Prosperity Trust, and The Duchess of Gloucester this evening attended the Abu Dhabi Festival Concert at Kensington Palace State Apartments.

The King this morning visited the Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, London E1, as part of the South by Southwest London festival and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London), the Chief Executive Officer of South by Southwest London (Mr Max Alexander) and the Mayor of London (Sir Sadiq Khan).

His Majesty viewed Grounding, an audiovisual installation, escorted by Mr Patrick Moore (Cultural Adviser and Board Member, South by Southwest London) and Ms Katy Arnander (Director of Programming).

The King afterwards visited the Beautiful Collisions exhibition at Christ Church Spitalfields, Commercial Street, London E1, as part of the South by Southwest London festival and was received by the Senior Pastor (the Reverend Darren Wolf).

His Majesty viewed the exhibition and afterwards attended a Reception.

The King subsequently walked to Old Spitalfields Market and met stallholders and members of the local community.

His Majesty this afternoon visited the Violet Melchett Health and Wellbeing Hub, 30 Flood Walk, London SW3, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).

The Queen this afternoon visited Hexham Racecourse, High Yarridge, Hexham, and, having been received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Northumberland (Dr Caroline Pryor), officially opened the new stand.

Her Majesty afterwards visited Hexham Abbey, Beaumont Street, Hexham.

The Queen subsequently met members of the public in Hexham market.

The Prince of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this morning attended a Meeting in London.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended the Annual Founder’s Day Parade at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception at the Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7, to celebrate the Seventieth Anniversary of the ascent of Kanchenjunga by the 1955 British team.

The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards attended a Yeomanry Trust Dinner at St James’s Palace.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, Two Moors Festival, this evening attended the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Dinner at Powderham Castle, Kenton, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).

The King spoke to The President of the United Arab Emirates via telephone this morning.

His Majesty this afternoon received Mr Ajay Banga (President of the World Bank).

Mr Andrew Murdoch was received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon his appointment as Governor of Bermuda.

Mr Colin Martin-Reynolds was received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon his appointment as Governor of Falkland Islands and His Majesty’s Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

Mr Sam Martin-Reynolds was also received by His Majesty.

The following were received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon their appointment as His Majesty’s Ambassador:

Mr Greg Houston (the Republic of Panama), Mrs Susannah Goshko (the United Mexican States) and Ms Elisabeth Green (the Republic of Ecuador).

The King this evening attended a Service at The Queen’s Chapel, Marlborough Road, London SW1, to mark the Chapel’s Four Hundredth Anniversary and was received by the Bishop of London (Dean of His Majesty’s Chapels Royal).

The Queen this morning opened the British Flowers Week Exhibition at the Garden Museum, 5 Lambeth Palace Road, London SE1, and was received by Mr Anthony Griffiths (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Majesty, Patron, the Big Lunch, this afternoon visited Eden Dock, Heron Quays Road, London E14, and, having been received by Mr Leslie Morgan (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London), attended a Big Lunch to mark the partnership between the Eden Project and Canary Wharf Group to transform Middle Dock into Eden Dock.
