The Queen this morning arrived in Manchester and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester (Mr. Warren Smith).

Her Majesty drove to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Oxford Road, Manchester, and was received by the Chairman of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Mrs. Katherine Cowell).

The Queen toured the Children’s Hospital, escorted by the Chairman, and met children recovering from injuries sustained in the terrorist attack this week at Manchester Arena and their parents.

Her Majesty also met nursing and other members of staff.

The Queen, Duke of Lancaster, today visited the Duchy of Lancaster Estate in Staffordshire and was received this afternoon at Tatenhill Airfield by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr. Ian Dudson), the Chief Executive and Clerk to the Council, the Duchy of Lancaster (Mr. Nathan Thompson) and the Mayor of East Staffordshire Borough Council (Councillor Simon Gaskin).

Her Majesty visited farms on the Needham Estate and, having been received by the Chairman of the Council, the Duchy of Lancaster (Mr. Mark Hudson), met tenants and viewed a horse race, before being received by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (the Rt. Hon. Sir Patrick McLoughlin) and meeting Members of the Council of the Duchy of Lancaster.

The Queen viewed Montbéliarde cattle and was afterwards entertained to a Luncheon for tenants of the Estate by the Chairman of the Council.
