The Queen this morning visited the Ministry of Defence, Innsworth House, Imjin Barracks, Innsworth, Gloucester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter), the Commander, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (Lieutenant General Timothy Evans) and the Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough Council (Councillor Ronald Allen).

Her Majesty toured the building, escorted by Major Terry Warburton (SO2 Policy and Honours), meeting members of staff and viewing historical artefacts, before visiting the Medal Office and engraving a medal.

The Queen subsequently opened the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre Operational Briefing Room.

Her Majesty was entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by the Commander, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in the Officers’ Mess, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps Headquarters, Imjin Barracks.

The Queen afterwards met families of Corps personnel and representatives from local schools and nurseries, and community charities.

COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Dr L’Ubomir Rehák was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Slovak Republic to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Reháková was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Muyeba Shichapwa Chikonde was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Zambia in London.

Mrs Chikonde was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Queen received His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma, Commonwealth Secretary-General.
