The Queen, Duke of Lancaster, this morning visited Lancashire and was received at Lancaster Railway Station by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (the Lord Shuttleworth) and the Mayor of Lancaster (Councillor Jon Barry).
Her Majesty visited Lancaster Castle to mark the Seven Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the creation of the Lancaster inheritance and was received by the Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).
The Constable (Mrs Pamela Barker) surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the Castle, which Her Majesty returned to her.
The Queen viewed a performance from William Shakespeare’s Richard II and attended a Reception.
The Queen afterwards visited Lodge Livery Yard, Myerscough College, St Michael’s Road, Bilsborrow, and was received by the Deputy Mayor of Wyre (Councillor Ron Greenhough).
Her Majesty toured the Yard, viewing a mobile farrier unit and calf show parade and met students, handlers and members of staff.
The Queen was entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by the Duchy of Lancaster at Light Ash Farm Shop and Cafe, St. Michael’s Road, Bilsborrow, and was received by the Owner (Mrs Edith Morgan).
Her Majesty later met Duchy Tenants at Lee Farm, Moss Lane, Bilsborrow.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, travelled in State to the Palace of Westminster today to open the Session of Parliament.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Sovereign’s Escort of The Household Cavalry, under the command of Major Warren Douglas, The Life Guards, and were received at the Sovereign’s Entrance by the Earl Marshal and the Lord Great Chamberlain.
