Her Majesty, escorted by the School Director, toured classrooms and the Sports Hall, meeting students and members of staff, and viewed a performance in the Theatre.

The Queen afterwards officially opened the National Health Service Grampian Emergency Care Centre, Foresterhill Campus, Aberdeen, and was received by the Chairman (Councillor B. Howatson) and Mr Richard Carey (Chief Executive).

Her Majesty, escorted by Mr Jonathan Lofthouse (General Manager, Acute Sector) visited the Oncology and Haematology Unit, the computerised tomography scanning room and the Emergency Department, meeting patients and members of staff, and was briefed on the future plans for National Health Service Grampian.
