The Princess Royal this morning opened Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s new Emergency Department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Charles Hastings Way, Worcester, and was received by Sir Nicholas Coleridge (Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Three Counties Agricultural Society, later opened Kildare Hall at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire (Mrs Beatrice Grant).

The King this afternoon held a Reception for European Leaders attending the European Political Community Summit at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mrs Marjorie Glasgow).

Afterwards the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The King.

The President of Ukraine was received subsequently by His Majesty.

Mrs Marjorie Glasgow (His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire) was present at Royal Air Force Brize Norton this morning upon the Arrivals of The President of Romania, The President of Ukraine and The President of the French Republic and welcomed Their Excellencies on behalf of The King.

Major James Sibbald (Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire) was present at London Oxford Airport this morning upon the Arrival of The President of the Swiss Confederation and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of His Majesty.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Newcomen Society, this afternoon received Professor Felix Schmid (President).

COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The King, accompanied by The Queen, travelled in State to the Palace of Westminster today to open the Session of Parliament.

Their Majesties drove in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Sovereign’s Escort of The Household Cavalry, under the command of Major William Charlesworth, The Blues and Royals, and were received at the Sovereign’s Entrance by the Earl Marshal and the Lord Great Chamberlain.

Guards of Honour were mounted at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Westminster by 1st Battalion Welsh Guards with The King’s Colour, under the command of Major Andrew Campbell.

A staircase party of The Household Cavalry was on duty at Victoria Tower, House of Lords, under the command of Major Dean Owens.

Royal Salutes were fired in Green Park by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, under the command of Major John Baileff, and from the Tower of London Saluting Battery by the Honourable Artillery Company, under the command of Major Amanda Wheeler.

The Imperial State Crown, the Cap of Maintenance and the Sword of State were conveyed previously to the House of Lords in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Regalia Escort of the Household Cavalry.

His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms was on duty in the Prince’s Chamber and The King’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty in the Royal Gallery.

The King’s Bargemaster and Watermen were on duty.

The Ladies and Gentlemen of the Household and the Pages of Honour to The King (the Hon Guy Tryon, the Hon William Sackville, the Hon Alfred Wellesley and Ralph Tollemache) and the Pages of Honour to The Queen (William Keswick and Arthur Elliott) were in attendance at the Palace of Westminster.

Their Majesties returned to Buckingham Palace and were received by the Lord Chamberlain and the Vice-Chamberlain of the Household.

Today is the Seventy Seventh Anniversary of the Birthday of The Queen.

By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Teferi Melesse Desta at 7 Princes Gate, London SW7, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Court of St James’s.

Ms Manju Malhi (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this morning upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Serbia and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The King.

Major Jeremy Fern (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this afternoon upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of His Majesty.

Major Jeremy Fern was present at Heathrow Airport, London, later upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Finland and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The King.

Ms Lynda Atkins (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire) was present at Royal Air Force Brize Norton this afternoon upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Bulgaria and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of His Majesty.

Mrs Rosemary Prescott (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this evening upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Kosovo and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The King.

Ms Lynda Atkins was present at Royal Air Force Brize Norton this evening upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Lithuania and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of His Majesty.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, Intelligence Corps, this afternoon visited 4 Military Intelligence Battalion at Bulford Barracks, Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Her Royal Highness was represented by Mrs Charles Ritchie (Lady in Waiting to Her Royal Highness) at the Funeral of the Earl of Rosebery and Midlothian which was held at Dalmeny Kirk, Main Street, Dalmeny, Midlothian, this afternoon.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this afternoon presided at the Undergraduate Degree Ceremony for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Guildford Cathedral, Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey.

The King and Queen this morning arrived in Guernsey and were received at Elizabeth College, St Peter Port, by the Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Guernsey (Lieutenant-General Richard Cripwell) and the Bailiff (Sir Richard McMahon).

Their Majesties drove to North Esplanade, St Peter Port, and, having been received by Ms Jessica Roland (Deputy Bailiff), attended a Special Sitting of the States of Deliberation.

The King received a Loyal Address of Welcome read by the Bailiff, to which His Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The King and Queen later proceeded on foot to Crow Pier, St Peter Port, and met stallholders representing Guernsey culture, heritage, produce and environmental initiatives, before joining a community tea party attended by veterans and representatives from Guernsey community groups.

His Majesty this afternoon joined a Sustainable Finance event at Government House, St Peter Port.

Her Majesty visited Hauteville House, St Peter Port.

The King and Queen afterwards drove to les Cotils, l’Hyvreuse, St Peter Port, and were received by the Managing Director (Ms Fiona Naftel).

Their Majesties viewed Golden Guernsey Goats and The King granted the title “Royal” to the breed.

The King and Queen afterwards met a delegation from Alderney in the garden of les Cotils and were received by the President of the States of Alderney (Mr William Tate).

The King received a Loyal Address read by the President, to which His Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Their Majesties met Homecomers and listened to a poetry recital by pupils from St Anne’s School before meeting representatives working in Alderney’s Renewable Energy Strategy and from the island’s voluntary sector.

The King and Queen subsequently met a delegation from Sark and were received by the Seigneur (Major Christopher Beaumont).

The King received a Loyal Address read by the Speaker of the Chief Pleas, to which His Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Their Majesties, having met residents who were children at the time of Sark’s Liberation in 1945, subsequently met representatives from Sark Community Power Project, volunteers and community first responders.

Mr Andrew Ranson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this evening upon the Arrival of The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The King.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Heritage of London Trust, this morning unveiled the newly restored Leaning Woman statue, North Verbena Gardens, St Peter’s Square, London W6, and was received by Mr Kevin McGrath (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Royal Institute of British Architects, this afternoon received Mr Jack Pringle (Chairman of the Board) and Dr Valerie Vaughan-Dick (Chief Executive Officer).

The King and Queen this afternoon arrived at Jersey Airport and were received by the Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Jersey (Vice-Admiral Jeremy Kyd) and the Bailiff (Sir Timothy Le Cocq).

Their Majesties drove to Royal Square, St Helier, to attend a Special Sitting of the States of Jersey and Sitting of the Royal Court.

The Seigneur de la Trinité, in accordance with the terms of his tenure, presented to The King and Queen duck eggs which were handed to His Majesty’s Receiver-General.

The King received a Loyal Address of Welcome read by the Bailiff, to which His Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The King and Queen later visited the Jersey Expo Event, Weighbridge Place, St Helier, and, escorted by the Lieutenant-Governor and the Bailiff, met representatives from Jersey’s agricultural sector, marine industries and environmental initiatives before viewing the Jersey Royal Potato Growing Competition.

The King and Queen subsequently proceeded on foot to Pomme d’Or Hotel, Liberation Square, St Helier, where upon arrival His Majesty presented the new King’s Colour to Jersey Sea Cadets to mark the Unit’s Seventy Fifth Anniversary.

The King and Queen viewed The King’s Parade outside Pomme d’Or Hotel and afterwards joined a community tea party in Liberation Square.

At the tea party Their Majesties met veterans before The King met representatives from schools, faith leaders and patronage representatives and The Queen met representatives from Free From Domestic Abuse, the emergency services and Jersey’s culture sector.

The Duke of Kent, formerly Colonel, Scots Guards, this evening attended a Concert at the Royal Military Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.
