The Queen this morning received a Loyal Address of Welcome from the Mayor of the Borough of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk (Councillor Colin Sampson) at the Town Hall, King’s Lynn, on the Sixtieth Anniversary of Her Majesty’s Accession, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk (Mr Richard Jewson).

The Queen later visited Dersingham Infant and Nursery School, Saxon Way, Dersingham, and was received by the Chairman of the School Governing Body (the Reverend Michael Brock).

Her Majesty toured the School, escorted by Mrs Gayle Platt (Head Teacher), viewing lessons and meeting class teachers, before viewing a performance by the children.

The Queen was represented by the Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit) at the Memorial Occasion for Mr Lucian Freud OM which was held in the National Portrait Gallery, London WC2, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales, President, and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited The Prince’s Drawing School at Kensington Palace studios.

His Royal Highness, President, the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning attended a Service to commemorate the Sixtieth Anniversary of The Queen’s Accession to the Throne, in the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this evening attended a Service in St Mary Abbots Parish Church, High Street, Kensington, London W8, to mark the Sixtieth Anniversary of The Queen’s Accession and the start of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee Year.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards attended a Reception at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8.

Princess Alexandra this morning attended a Civic Service of Thanksgiving to mark the Diamond Jubilee of The Queen, in St Luke’s Church, Gibbon Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, and was received by Colonel Geoffrey Godbold (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Queen, accompanied by The Princess Royal, Patron, the Jubilee Woods Project, today planted a commemorative tree at the site of the Diamond Jubilee Wood on Sandringham Estate and was received by the Chairman of the Woodland Trust (Dr Nicola Nicholls) and Mrs Georgina McLeod (Head of Jubilee Woods, the Woodland Trust).

Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness, escorted by Miss Sue Holden (Chief Executive, the Woodland Trust), met members of staff of the Woodland Trust and viewed local schoolchildren who were planting trees.
