Pipe Major Paul Burns was received by His Majesty this morning upon relinquishing his appointment as The King’s Piper when His Majesty decorated him with the Royal Victorian Medal (Silver).

The King this afternoon visited BAE Systems, Bridge Road, Barrow-in-Furness, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Mr Alexander Scott), the First Sea Lord (General Sir Gwyn Jenkins), the High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia in London (His Excellency the Hon Stephen Smith), the Ambassador from the United States of America to the Court of St James’s (His Excellency Mr Warren Stephens), the Chief of Defence Nuclear (Ms Madelaine McTernan), the Chief Executive Officer, BAE Systems (Dr Charles Woodburn), the Secretary of State for Defence (the Rt Hon John Healey MP), the Secretary of the United States Navy (the Hon John Phelan) and the Commanding Officer, HMS Agamemnon (Commander David Crosby).

His Majesty was received with a Royal Salute and attended the Commissioning Ceremony for HMS Agamemnon.

The King was received later by Mr Stephen Timms (Submarines Managing Director, BAE Systems) before meeting Serving Personnel and their families, and BAE Systems apprentices.

His Majesty, escorted by the Submarines Managing Director, afterwards visited the Bridge Centre, Portland Walk, Barrow-in-Furness, before being received by the Chairman of the Barrow Delivery Board, Team Barrow (the Lord Case).

The King subsequently attended a Reception in Coffee D’Ash Café, meeting recipients of the Team Barrow Social Impact Fund.

His Majesty afterwards formally presented Letters Patent to confer the Title Royal on the Port of Barrow at the Town Hall, Duke Street, Barrow-in-Furness, and was received by the Mayor of Barrow (Councillor F Chatfield).

The King met residents of Parkview Gardens Care Home and Primary Schoolchildren before meeting representatives of local patronages, community groups and members of the public in the town square.

The President of the United States of America later visited Chequers Court, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and was received by the Prime Minister and Lady Starmer.

The President and the Prime Minister viewed historical items relating to the Rt Hon Sir Winston Churchill.

The President of the United States had talks with the Prime Minister and subsequently was entertained to Luncheon by the Prime Minister on behalf of His Majesty’s Government.

Mrs Trump was entertained to Luncheon by Lady Starmer.

The President of the United States and Mrs Trump, with the Prime Minister and Lady Starmer, this afternoon viewed an aerial display by the Red Devils of The Parachute Regiment.

The President and the Prime Minister afterwards held a Conference with the Media.

The Queen and Mrs Trump this morning viewed Queen Mary’s Dolls House at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty and Mrs Trump subsequently viewed treasures in the Royal Library at the Castle.

The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump arrived at Windsor Castle today on a State Visit to The King and Queen.

The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed The President and Mrs Trump on behalf of His Majesty in the Walled Rose Garden and walked to Victoria House where The President and Mrs Trump were met by The King and Queen.

The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump, accompanied by Their Majesties with Their Royal Highnesses, drove in a Carriage Procession to Windsor Castle with a Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry.

Gun Salutes were fired from the East Lawn by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and at HM Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Windsor Castle by Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards, 7 Company Coldstream Guards and F Company Scots Guards with the Massed Bands of the Foot Guards and the Pipes and Drums.

The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery marched past, The Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry ranked past and the Guard of Honour marched past.

His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The King’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and the Military Knights of Windsor were on duty.

The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump this afternoon visited St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and were received by the Dean (the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth).

The President and Mrs Trump laid a Wreath on the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II in The King George VI Chapel.
