The King and Queen today visited Poundbury, Dorchester, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mr Angus Campbell), the Secretary and Keeper of the Records of the Duchy of Cornwall (Mr Alastair Martin), Poundbury Development Director (Mr Andrew Hamilton) and the Mayor of Dorchester (Mr Alistair Chisholm).

The King and Queen this morning viewed bronze reliefs of Their Majesties commissioned to mark the completion of Queen Mother Square.

The King and Queen this afternoon opened The Duke of Edinburgh Garden at Pavilion Green and walked through the Garden, viewing a bust of His late Royal Highness and meeting the team responsible for building the Garden.

Later, the Rt Hon Justin Trudeau MP (Prime Minister of Canada) had an audience of The King via video link.

His Majesty this evening held a Reception for recipients of The King’s Award for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

The Prince of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, today undertook the following engagements to launch the “Homewards” Programme.

His Royal Highness this morning visited East Belfast Mission, Skainos Centre, 239 Newtownards Roads, Belfast, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle).

The Prince William, Duke of Rothesay this afternoon visited Tillydrone Community Campus, Hayton Road, Aberdeen, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor David Cameron, the Lord Provost).

His Royal Highness later visited Verdon Recreation Centre, Verdon Street, Sheffield, and was received by Mr Anthony Pedder (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire).

The Princess of Wales today officially opened Hope Street, 30-32 the Avenue, Southampton, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning held a Trustees’ Meeting at Argyll, 20 North Audley Street, London W1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the London Gardens Society, having been received by Mr Stuart Shilson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London), this afternoon visited St John’s Wood Church Ground Gardens, Wellington Place, London NW8, and St Marylebone Almshouses, 80 St John’s Wood Terrace, London NW8.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, this morning visited Remus Memorial Horse Sanctuary, Little Farm, Buttsbury, Ingatestone, to mark its Fortieth Anniversary and was received by Mr Vincent Thompson (Deputy Lieutenant of Essex).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened Charfleet Book Bindery, Unit 20-21 Vole House, Thamesview Business Park, Fenttiman Road, Canvey Island, and was received by Mrs Julia Abel-Smith (Deputy Lieutenant of Essex).

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Honorary President, Linking Environment and Farming, later received Mr Philip Wynn (Chairman) and Mr David Webster (Chief Executive Officer).

The Princess Royal this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Germany and was received later upon arrival at Düsseldorf Airport by Mr Nicholas Russell (His Majesty’s Consul-General of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Düsseldorf).

Her Royal Highness, former President, Fédération Equestre Internationale, this evening opened the Concours Hippique International Officiel World Equestrian Festival, Aachen.

The Princess of Wales, The Duchess of Edinburgh, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and The Duchess of Gloucester were present.

The Baroness Ashton of Upholland and the Lord Patten of Barnes were present.

The following Knights Companion were present: the Lord Butler of Brockwell, the Rt Hon Sir John Major, the Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, Marshal of the Royal Air Force the Lord Stirrup, the Lady Manningham Buller, the Lord King of Lothbury, the Viscount Brookeborough, Lady Mary Fagan, the Marquess of Salisbury, Lady Mary Peters, the Baroness Amos and the Rt Hon Sir Tony Blair.

The Officers of the Order were: the Dean of Windsor (Register), Mr David White (Garter King of Arms), Miss Sarah Clarke (Lady Usher of the Black Rod) and Mr Patric Dickinson (Secretary).

Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Segrave (Secretary, Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood) and Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson (Equerry to The King) were in attendance.

His Majesty invested the Baroness Ashton of Upholland with the Insignia of a Lady Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter and the Lord Patten of Barnes with the Insignia of a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

The King later gave a Luncheon Party for the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Garter at which The Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke of York, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent were present.

An Installation Service was held in St George’s Chapel this afternoon at which the Baroness Ashton of Upholland and the Lord Patten of Barnes were installed as a Lady Companion and a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms and The King’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty in the Chapel.

The King was represented by Sir Kenneth Olisa (His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London) at the Funeral of Sir David Brewer KG (formerly His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London and Lord Mayor of London) which was held in the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, this morning.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were represented by Mrs Angus Galletley.

The Princess Royal was represented by Mrs Susanna Cross.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs Diane Duke.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Wellington Trust, was represented by Captain Sir Nicholas Wright RN (Extra Equerry to Her Royal Highness) at the Service of Thanksgiving for Captain Stephen Taylor RN (formerly Chairman) which was held in St Bartholomew’s Church, Habin Hill, Rogate, Petersfield, Hampshire, today.
