The Queen this morning opened the new ArtPlay Pavilion and Sculpture Garden at Dulwich Picture Gallery, College Road, London SE21, and was received by Colonel Simon Duckworth (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Kensington Palace

The Prince of Wales and The Princess of Wales, Patron, Natural History Museum, this morning visited the Museum, Cromwell Road, London SW7, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited the University of Leicester Hospital, Infirmary Square, Leicester, and was received by Colonel Richard Hurwood (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Jewry Wall Museum, St Nicholas Walk, Leicester.

The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon visited Leicester Cathedral.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Canada and was received upon arrival this afternoon at Calgary International Airport by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta (the Hon Salma Lakhani).

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Spruce Meadows, this evening attended a Dinner at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel, 133 9th Avenue South West, Calgary.

Mr Tom Robinson, Ms Maureen Harquail and Captain Jacob Markham are in attendance.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning visited Leamington and Warwick Gurdwara, Tachbrook Park Drive, Leamington Spa, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire (Mr Timothy Cox).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Old Square, Warwick, to mark the Five Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Beauchamp Chapel.

The Princess Royal afterwards visited Lord Leycester Hospital, 60 High Street, Warwick.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Commandant-in-Chief, St John Ambulance Cymru, this afternoon officially opened the renovated Priory House, Beignon Close, Ocean Way, Cardiff, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Mrs Morfudd Meredith).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Horatio’s Garden Wales at the Welsh Spinal Cord Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation Centre, University Hospital Llandough, Penlan Road, Llandough, Penarth, and was received by Dr Isabel Graham (Deputy Lieutenant of South Glamorgan).

COURT CIRCULAR

Balmoral Castle

The King this afternoon visited the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, Birmingham, following the canonisation of Cardinal John Henry Newman and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Dr Derrick Anderson), the Provost of Birmingham Oratory (the Reverend Father Ignatius Harrison) and the Lord Mayor of Birmingham (Councillor Zafar Iqbal).

His Majesty, escorted by the Provost, walked through the shrine to Cardinal Newman, before viewing a display in the library.

The King visited Cardinal Newman’s room and subsequently met members of staff.

His Majesty later drove to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, Grove Lane, Smethwick, and was received by the Chairman of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (Sir David Nicholson), Ms Diane Wake (Chief Executive of the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust) and the Mayor of Sandwell (Councillor Stephen Melia).

The King, escorted by the Chairman and Chief Executive, met patients and members of staff in the acute elderly care ward, before visiting the Winter Garden and meeting volunteers and more members of staff.

His Majesty then officially opened Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

The Rt Hon Mark Carney (Prime Minister of Canada) had an audience of The King via video link this evening.

The Queen, Royal Colonel, this afternoon visited 4th Battalion The Rangers at New Normandy Barracks, Evelyn Woods Road, Aldershot, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning visited Gloucestershire Engineering Training’s Higher Education Facility at Barnwood Point, Corinium Avenue, Gloucester, and was received by Dr Diane Hill (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Blackbridge Charitable Community Benefit Society’s Community and Sports Hub, Laburnum Road, Gloucester, and was received by Mr Mark Hurrell (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

The Princess Royal later visited Freemans Event Partners, Quadrant Distribution Centre, Quadrant Way, Hardwicke, Gloucester, to mark its Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Mr Richard Bradley (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

Her Royal Highness, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, was represented by Mrs David Bowes-Lyon (Lady in Waiting to The Princess Royal) at a Thanksgiving Service for Mr James Hepburne Scott (formerly of The Black Watch) which was held at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Upavon, Wiltshire, this afternoon.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project at King Edward Memorial Park, Glamis Road, London E1, and was received by Mr Leslie Morgan (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Queen, Patron, this morning visited ShelterBox, Falcon House, Charles Street, Truro, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho).

Her Majesty, Patron, Cornwall Community Foundation, this afternoon visited Wave House Church, East Street, Newquay.

The Queen, Patron, Cornwall Air Ambulance, later opened the Newman Wing at the Charity’s Headquarters, Trevithick Downs, Newquay, and officially named the second Cornwall Air Ambulance helicopter, “The Duke of Cornwall”.

The King and Queen were represented by Major Christopher Cox (Lieutenant of The King’s Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard) at the Memorial Service for Colonel Shaun Longsdon (former Lieutenant of The King’s Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard) which was held at St Mary’s Church, Fairford, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by General Sir James Everard.
