Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Queen’s Park, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and were received by the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario (His Honour the Hon David Onley) and the Premier of Ontario (the Hon Dalton McGuinty).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness met groups of young people and The Queen presented Scrolls in recognition of Good Citizenship.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon arrived at Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Ontario, and Her Majesty unveiled a new badge design for the Canadian Border Services Agency.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness subsequently departed Lester B. Pearson International Airport for the United States of America and were received later on arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United States of America (His Excellency Sir Nigel Sheinwald) and Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United Nations (Sir Mark Lyall Grant).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove to the United Nations and, having been received by the Secretary-General (Mr. Ban Ki-moon) and the President of the General Assembly, laid a wreath for United Nations staff who lost their lives whilst on duty.

Her Majesty addressed the United Nations General Assembly.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations was later received by The Queen.

The President of the General Assembly and the Chef de Cabinet were received by Her Majesty.

The Security Council was received by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception at the United Nations.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later visited Ground Zero and, having been received by Mr Glen Guzi (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey), laid a wreath and met police and fire department staff, and family members of those who lost their lives on 11 September 2001.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening visited the British Memorial Garden and were received by the Mayor of New York.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness toured the garden and met gardeners, families and donors.

The Queen subsequently cut a ribbon to commemorate the visit.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening departed John F. Kennedy International Airport for the United Kingdom.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon took the Salute for the March Past of “Cadet 150” on the Mall, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Cadet Movement.

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Bands of the Brigade of Gurkhas and the Combined Cadet Force played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this evening held a Reception for the Marketing Society Mayday Alliance at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today received Mr. Thomas Albanese (Chief Executive, Rio Tinto) and Mr. Guy Elliott (Finance Director, Rio Tinto).

His Royal Highness this afternoon gave a Luncheon for Amr Al-Dabbagh (Governor, Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority) at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York afterwards unveiled the restored Armada Tapestries at the Palace of Westminster, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, later gave a Tea for representatives of 2nd, 3rd and 4th Battalions of The Yorkshire Regiment (14th/15th, 19th and 33rd/76th Foot) who have recently returned from Afghanistan at Royal Lodge, the Great Park, Windsor.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning held a meeting at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Cadet Movement.

The Earl of Wessex, Honorary Liveryman, this evening attended the Young Haberdashers’ Dinner for Young Freemen and Liverymen at the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, Haberdashers’ Hall, 18 West Smithfield, London EC1.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Member, International Olympic Committee, this morning attended the Sixth International Olympic Committee Coordination Commission at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Northcliffe House, Tudor Street, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, College of Occupational Therapists, this afternoon visited occupational therapists at University College Hospital and attended a Conference at University College Hospital Education Centre, 250 Euston Road, London NW1.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Shorthorn Society of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, this evening held the Thirteenth Shorthorn World Conference Reception at St James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Cadet Movement.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this afternoon attended the Memorial Service for the Lord Cornwallis in the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London SW1.

His Royal Highness later attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Cadet Movement.
