The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, arrived at Edinburgh Airport this afternoon.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and were received by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).
Afterwards The Queen was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor George Grubb, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost) and members of the City of Edinburgh District Council, when the Rt Hon the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.
A Guard of Honour found by 19 Regiment Royal Artillery, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Dawes, was mounted in the Forecourt.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later visited the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, and were received by the Regius Keeper of the Royal Botanic Garden (Professor Stephen Blackmore).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted respectively by the Regius Keeper and Mr Ian Sword (Deputy Chairman of Trustees), toured the Garden, meeting members of staff, and Her Majesty unveiled a memorial tablet to officially open the John Hope Gateway Building.
By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Dr Margus Laidre at 16 Hyde Park Gate, London SW7, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Estonia to the Court of St James’s.
The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and The Duchess of Cornwall today visited Cornwall and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (the Lady Mary Holborow).
Their Royal Highness this morning visited Marazion.

His Royal Highness afterwards presented Operational Service Medals to personnel from 849 Naval Air Squadron, and later met servicemen and women and their families from Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, Helston.
The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, Patron, and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, Greenbank, Falmouth.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, this afternoon presented the Cornwall Community Foundation Annual Awards in Truro Cathedral and was received by Mr Michael Galsworthy (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall).
The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects Group (for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this morning chaired a Board Meeting at Buckingham Palace, and afterwards gave a Lunch.
His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting.
