Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Air Commodore-in-Chief, today visited Royal Air Force Marham, King’s Lynn, and was received by the Chief of the Air Staff (Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton), the Viscountess Knollys (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk) and the Honorary Inspector General, Royal Auxiliary Air Force (Air Vice Marshal the Lord Beaverbrook).

Her Majesty was received on parade with a Royal Salute and witnessed a flypast of aircraft.

After a new Sovereign’s Colour for No. 501 (County of Gloucester) Squadron Royal Air Force and new Squadron Standards for No. 2620 (County of Norfolk) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force Regiment and No. 2623 (East Anglian) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force Regiment had been consecrated, The Queen presented the Colour and the Standards to the Regiments.

Her Majesty was graciously pleased to address the parade and the Honorary Inspector General replied.

The parade subsequently marched past The Queen.

Her Majesty afterwards attended a Reception for Servicemen and their families in the Officers’ Mess and was received by Group Captain Peter Rochelle, RAF (Station Commander).

Buckingham Palace

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, England Hockey, this afternoon attended the Women’s Federation International Hockey Championships at Highfields Sports Club, Nottingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (Sir Andrew Buchanan, Bt.).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Royal Air Force 501 (County of Gloucester) Squadron Association, this afternoon attended the presentation of the Sovereign’s Colour for the Royal Auxiliary Air Force at Royal Air Force Marham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
