COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Anton Thalmann was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Swiss Confederation to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Thalmann was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Abdullahi AlAzreg was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of the Sudan to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Sumaya Omer Husain Abdelrahman was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

Air Vice-Marshal Graham Stacey was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Administrator of the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia and Commander British Forces Cyprus.

Mrs Justice Thirlwall was received by The Queen upon her appointment as a Justice of the High Court when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

The Rt Hon George Osborne MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended the Dedication Ceremony of new masts (project “Last Witness”) onboard HMS Belfast, London SE1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Outward Bound Trust, this afternoon gave a Lunch at St James’s Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron and Twelfth Man, the Lord’s Taverners, later presented the County Championship Trophies at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Member, this evening presented the Royal Charter to the Worshipful Company of Marketors and attended a Dinner at Guildhall, London EC2.

Clarence House

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, this morning opened Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre, Wellington Lane, Cheltenham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Sir Henry Elwes).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today carried out the following engagements in Shenzhen, China, and was received by Her Majesty’s Consul-General for Shenzhen (Mr Brian Davidson).

His Royal Highness this morning attended a low carbon and corporate social responsibility meeting at Wuzhou Guest House.

The Duke of York afterwards attended a Meeting with the Executive Vice President of Huawei Technologies Company Limited.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for representatives of British businesses, given by Her Majesty’s Consul-General.

The Duke of York later visited China Merchants Bank.

His Royal Highness subsequently visited Hytera Communications Corporation Limited.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for representatives of British and Shenzhen businesses.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Meeting with the Mayor of Shenzhen at the Wuzhou Guest House.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, President, Victim Support, this afternoon attended a Reception at St David’s Hotel and Spa, Havannah Street, Cardiff, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr Peter Beck).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Livability, this evening attended a Reception at the Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square, London WC1.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester this morning opened Oak Field School and Sports College, Wigman Road, Bilborough, Nottingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (Sir Andrew Buchanan, Bt).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Children’s Hospital at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospital, Derby Road, Nottingham.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning visited Belmont Abbey, Hereford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire (the Countess of Darnley).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Royal National College for the Blind, College Road, Hereford.

The Duke of Kent later visited Queenswood Country Park, near Leominster, Herefordshire.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this afternoon visited Elis David Almshouses, Duppas Hill Terrace, Croydon, Surrey, and was received by Air Vice-Marshal Clive Evans (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Florence Nightingale Foundation, later received Mr Bryan Sanderson at Buckingham Palace upon assuming his appointment as Chairman.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, afterwards received Mrs Bridget Warr upon relinquishing her appointment as Chief Executive.

Mr Anthony Aston (Chairman) was present.
