COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

Her Majesty this afternoon received Leaders and Elected Representatives of the United Kingdom’s Overseas Territory Governments.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, today attended the 40 Commando Royal Marines Medals Parade at Norton Manor Camp, Taunton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Lady Gass).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Mr. Thomas Woodcock (Garter Principal King of Arms) at the Memorial Service for Sir Peter Gwynn-Jones (formerly Garter Principal King of Arms) which was held in the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, this afternoon.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex were represented by Colonel Alastair Bruce of Crionaich.

The Princess Royal was represented by Lady Carew Pole.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Birdwood.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this afternoon visited the Poundbury development and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mrs. Anthony Pitt-Rivers).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment, this afternoon received Mr. Mohammed Kasim Reed (Mayor of Atlanta).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, this afternoon presented the Wicked Young Writers’ Award, Apollo Victoria Theatre, 17 Wilton Road, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the London Chamber Orchestra, this evening attended a Concert at St. James’s Palace, followed by a Dinner at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Council, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Association, today held a Meeting and Lunch at Cumberland Lodge, the Great Park, Windsor, Berkshire.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon attended a Trustees Meeting and later attended a Trustees Dinner at Cumberland Lodge.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, this morning visited Childline, 2-2A, Prince of Wales Court, 6 Church Street, Old Basford, Nottingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (Sir Andrew Buchanan, Bt.).

Her Royal Highness later opened the Samworth Academy at Nottingham University and visited the Early Intervention 11-16 Life Skills Project and the Family Nurse Partnership, Bramhall Road, Billborough, Nottingham.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon opened Lark Hill ExtraCare Village, New Rise, off Clifton Lane, Nottingham.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Merchant Navy Memorial Trust (Scotland), this morning attended a Service of Dedication in South Leith Parish Church, afterwards visited Trinity House, Leith, later unveiled the Merchant Navy Memorial at the Shore, Tower Place, Leith, and subsequently attended a Reception at the Malmaison Hotel, 1 Tower Place, Leith, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor George Grubb, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, St. Margaret’s Chapel Guild, this afternoon attended a Service of Thanksgiving in St. Margaret’s Chapel, followed by the Annual General Meeting at Edinburgh Castle and was received by Mrs. Veronica Crerar (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Joint President, Cancer Research UK, this afternoon received Mr. David Newbigging upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Mr. Michael Pragnell upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Joint President, Cancer Research UK, this evening attended the Major Donor Dinner at Tom Aikens Restaurant, 43 Elystan Street, London SW3.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Missing People, this afternoon departed St. Pancras International Station, London, and later arrived at Gare du Midi, Brussels, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium (His Excellency Mr. Jonathan Brenton).

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner given by The Queen of the Belgians at the Castle of Laeken.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning visited KCA (UK), Dan House, 44 East Street, Faversham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (Mr. Allan Willett).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Tank Museum, this afternoon visited the Weald Foundation, Rugmer Hill Farm, Yalding, Maidstone.
