Buckingham Palace

The Queen received a delegation from the Board of Deputies of British Jews at Windsor Castle today on the occasion of the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of its foundation.

General Sir Peter Wall was received by Her Majesty upon assuming his appointment as Chief of the General Staff.

Mr Rana Dasgupta (winner of the 2010 Commonwealth Writers Prize) was received by The Queen.

Dr Mark Collins (Director of the Commonwealth Foundation) was present.

The Lord McAvoy was received by Her Majesty and delivered up his Wand of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Treasurer of the Household.

The Lady Elton was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Windsor Castle this evening for British Rural Communities.

The Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and The Duke of Gloucester were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this afternoon attended the Colonels Commandant Luncheon at Salters’ Hall, 4 Fore Street, London EC2.

The Queen was represented by Mr Marcus O’Lone (Land Agent, Sandringham) at the Funeral of Mr Montague Christopher (formerly Head Keeper) which was held in St Peter’s Church, Wolferton, Norfolk, this afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Mr David Clark.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Sir Julian Loyd.

The Duke of York was represented by Colonel Robin Broke.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex were represented by the Lady Angela Oswald.

The Princess Royal was represented by Sir Jackie Stewart.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Sir Michael Oswald.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Professor Francis Moto at 36 John Street, London WC1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for Malawi in London.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House for the launch of START 2011.

His Royal Highness later received the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State for Education).

The Prince of Wales, President, and The Duchess of Cornwall, this evening attended The Prince’s Trust Rock Gala 2010 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, SW7.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, National Literacy Trust, this morning attended a storytelling event in Clarence House and afterwards travelled by Routemaster bus to a Reception at the London Transport Museum, Covent Garden Piazza, London WC2, to mark the Fifteenth Anniversary of the National Young Readers’ Programme, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this morning attended Regional Seminars and Discussion Groups at Cumberland Lodge, the Great Park, Windsor, Berkshire.

His Royal Highness, Chairman, International Council, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Association, this afternoon held a Lunch, followed by a Meeting, at Cumberland Lodge.

The Princess Royal, Director, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, this morning attended the opening session of the 7th International Olympic Committee Coordination at Deloitte and Touche, 2 New Street Square, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Transaid, this afternoon received Mr John Harvey upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Mr Graeme McFaull upon assuming the appointment.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning received Lord Plumb of Coleshill on relinquishing his appointment as President, The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, and His Royal Highness upon assuming the appointment.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Missing People, today attended the Conference, “Vulnerable children on the run, a European challenge”, at the Royal Palace, Rue Brederode 16, Brussels, Belgium.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner given by Mr Jose Manuel Durao Barroso (President, the European Commission), Berlaymont Building, 200 rue de la Loi, Brussels.
