Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Alexander Yakovenko was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Russian Federation to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Yakovenko was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Archbishop Antonio Mennini was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Apostolic Nuncio from the Holy See to the Court of St James’s.

Mr James Bevan (Director General, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

Mr Giles Paxman was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

Mrs Paxman was also received by Her Majesty.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Admiral and Member, Royal Yacht Squadron, this morning received Mr Michael Campbell (Commodore).

His Royal Highness, Honorary Member, Imperial Poona Yacht Club, this evening attended a Dinner at the Royal Thames Yacht Club, 60 Knightsbridge, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited Government Communications Headquarters, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The Prince of Wales this evening attended a Dinner for the Prince’s Charities Council at St James’s Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Commodore-in-Chief, Royal Naval Chaplaincy Service, this morning visited the Armed Forces’ Chaplaincy Centre, Amport House, Amport, Andover, and met members of the Royal Naval Chaplaincy Service.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning visited CancerPartners UK, Unit 710, Centennial Park, Elstree, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire (the Countess of Verulam).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Royal College of Surgeons of England, 35-43 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London WC2.

The Duke of York this afternoon attended a Luncheon given by the Wellcome Trust, 215 Euston Road, London NW1.

His Royal Highness later visited Imperial College London, Exhibition Road, London SW7.

The Earl of Wessex this morning received the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP (Secretary of State for Defence).

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex later received Colonel Jeremy Mooney (Regimental Lieutenant Colonel, The London Regiment) and Lieutenant Colonel Marc Overton (Commanding Officer).

His Royal Highness, Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, subsequently held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex, Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Dyslexia Action, this morning visited Abbot’s Lea School, Beaconsfield Road, Liverpool, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside (Dame Lorna Muirhead).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the new Women and Children’s Hospital, Arrowe Park Road, Upton, Wirral, Merseyside.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the National Autistic Society, later opened the Ferns Respite Unit, Raby Hall, Bromborough, Wirral.

The Princess Royal this morning visited the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh, Sarani, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Gabura Union, Department for International Development supported temporary settlements in Satkhira District.

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended a Meeting with members of the Sunderbans Tiger Project at Nil Dumuria, Burigoalini, Sunderbans District.

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children UK, subsequently visited projects at Paschim Chila Bazar, Mongla, Bagerhat, Eastern Sunderbans District.

The Princess Royal this evening attended a Reception and Dinner given by the British High Commissioner to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (His Excellency Mr Stephen Evans) at the Residence in Dhaka.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this morning visited Malta (Capuccini) Naval Cemetery, Malta.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta.

The Duke of Kent this evening arrived at Heathrow airport, London, from Malta.

Mr Nicolas Adamson was in attendance.
