Buckingham Palace

The Lady Bingham was received by The Queen this afternoon and delivered up the Badge and Star of the Order of the Garter worn by her husband, the late the Lord Bingham of Cornhill.

Ms. Gillian Clarke was received by The Queen when Her Majesty presented her with The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.

The Poet Laureate (Professor Carol Ann Duffy) was present.

The Queen received the Bishop of Ely (the Right Reverend Stephen Conway) who did homage upon his appointment.

Her Majesty received the Bishop of Southwark (the Right Reverend Christopher Chessun) who did homage upon his appointment.

The Rt. Hon. Kenneth Clarke MP (Lord Chancellor) administered the Oath.

The Bishop of Guildford (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Interact Worldwide, this morning received Ms. Marie Staunton (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Britain-Australia Society, received the Earl of Buckinghamshire upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Mr. John Allen upon assuming this appointment.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron this afternoon held a Luncheon for Wildscreen at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Life Member, Grenadier Guards Association, this evening attended a Reception to mark the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the London Branch at the Guards Museum, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales this morning held a Meeting with representatives from the Department of Health Self Care Project at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness this morning held a Tree Health Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales, President, British Red Cross Society, and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon attended a Reception at Mansion House, London EC4.

His Royal Highness, Patron, St. Paul’s Cathedral Foundation, this evening attended a Gala Concert in St. Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4, to commemorate the Three Hundredth Anniversary of the completion of the Cathedral.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Wimbledon Chase Primary School, Merton Hall Road, London SW19, for the launch of Wimbledon Bookfest Young Writers’ Competition 2011 on World Book Day, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Her Royal Highness this evening attended the “Forget Me Not” Concert and Reception held by St. George’s School, Windsor, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Princess Royal this morning visited a British Council International Inspiration Youth Sports event at the University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Her Royal Highness was received later by The President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at The President’s Residence, Bangabhaban, Dhaka.

The Princess Royal subsequently attended a Reception with High Commissioners at The President’s Residence.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Meeting with British Council Members at the British Council, 5 Fuller Road, Dhaka.

The Princess Royal later attended a Reception given by the British High Commissioner to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (His Excellency Mr. Stephen Evans) at the British High Commission.

Her Royal Highness subsequently received Begum Khaleda Zia (Leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party) at the British High Commission.

The Princess Royal this evening attended a Dinner given by Dr. Dipu Moni (Foreign Minister), at the Sheraton Hotel, Minto Road, Dhaka.

Her Royal Highness later departed Bangladesh for the United Kingdom.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Bliss — the National Charity for the Newborn, today received Mr. Andrew Cole (Chief Executive).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Parkinson’s UK, this afternoon received Mr. Steven Ford (Chief Executive) and Mr. Paul Jackson-Clark (Director of Fund Raising).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Music in Hospitals, this evening attended a Dinner and Concert at Haberdashers’ Hall, 18 West Smithfield, London EC1.
