Windsor Castle

The Queen held a council at 12.40 p.m..

There were present: the Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State, Department for Education), the Rt. Hon. Cheryl Gillan MP (Secretary of State for Wales) and the Lord McNally (Minister of State, Ministry of Justice).

Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as clerk of the council.

The Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the council.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York today carried out the following engagements in Jakarta, Indonesia.

His Royal Highness this morning attended a ports infrastructure round table at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.

The Duke of York was received later by The President of the Republic of Indonesia.

His Royal Highness today attended a briefing and discussion with the British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.

The Duke of York this afternoon attended a luncheon with Indonesian entrepreneurs.

His Royal Highness afterwards opened the new office of United Kingdom Trade and Investment at the British Embassy.

The Duke of York subsequently called upon the Minister of Trade at the Ministry.

His Royal Highness this evening departed Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, for the United Kingdom.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Injured Jockeys Fund, this afternoon attended Liverpool Day of the Grand National Race Meeting at Aintree Racecourse, Ormskirk Road, Liverpool, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside (Dame Lorna Muirhead).

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Royal Patron, Holly Lodge Centre, this evening attended a reception at Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park, Surrey, and was received by Sir Kenneth Knight (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
