By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) received His Excellency Mr Lansana Keita at St James’s Palace this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Guinea to the Court of St James’s.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this morning received Mr Ian Maclay (Managing Director).

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this afternoon received Mr Paul Skinner (Chairman, Infrastructure UK), Lady Judge (Chairman Emeritus, UK Atomic Energy Authority) and Mr Richard Olver (Chairman, BAE Systems plc).

The Duke of York afterwards held a Round Table discussion for representatives of the fashion and design industries.

His Royal Highness this evening attended the Hong Viet Dung Exhibition, Apricot Gallery, 27 Albemarle Street, London W1.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, today attended Receptions for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at St James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for the Volunteer Reserve Forces, this afternoon received Air Vice-Marshal Paul Luker (Retired).

The Princess Royal this morning opened the new Education Centre and Library at Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House, 7 South Brink, Wisbech, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mr Hugh Duberly).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the British Racing School, 11 Newmarket Road, Newmarket, Suffolk, and was received by Mrs Jane Lewis Smith (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire).

The Princess Royal, President, the Mission to Seafarers, later opened the Garden Area at Felixstowe Seafarers’ Centre, Dock Road, Felixstowe, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Lord Tollemache).

Her Royal Highness, Honorary Member, the Royal Automobile Club, accompanied by Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, this evening attended the Centenary Dinner at the Royal Automobile Club, 89-91 Pall Mall, London SW1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened Skinners’ Academy, Woodberry Grove, London N4, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Construction Youth Trust, this evening attended a Dinner for The Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme at Mosimann’s, 11B West Halkin Street, Belgrave Square, London SW1.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, the Royal London Society for the Blind, this afternoon received Mr Ian Stephenson (Chairman) and Dr Thomas Pey (Chief Executive Officer).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this morning presented Higher Degrees at Guildford Cathedral, Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this morning opened the Charles Carter Building and attended a Reception at Lancaster University, Bailrigg, Lancaster.
