Buckingham Palace
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today visited Margate and were received on arrival at Manston Airport this morning by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to Old Town, Margate, and were received by the Chairman of Thanet District Council (Councillor Douglas Clark).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh walked through Old Town Square visiting businesses that have survived the recession and meeting business owners and local community groups, escorted respectively by Mrs. Madeline Homer (Community Services Manager, Thanet District Council) and Dr. S. McGonigal (Chief Executive, Thanet District Council).
Her Majesty was subsequently received by Councillor Mrs. Iris Johnson (Mayor of Margate), who introduced a group of veterans to The Queen.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards visited Turner Contemporary, the Rendezvous, Margate, and were received by the Chairman of Trustees (Mr. John Kampfner) and Ms. Victoria Pomery (Director).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh toured the Galleries, hearing about the work of various artists and viewing activities involving children and young people, before attending a Reception with artworks participants, youth navigators and cultural ambassadors.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were subsequently entertained to Luncheon by the Chairman of Trustees.
The Queen, Patron, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon visited the Lifeboat Station, the Rendezvous, Margate, were received by the Chairman of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (Admiral the Lord Boyce) and Mr. Paul Hodson (Lifeboat Operations Manager, Margate) and met the coxswain, crew and their families.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this morning held The Princes’ Charities Forum at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, 195 Piccadilly, London W1.
Buckingham Palace
The Duke of York, Commodore, the Royal Thames Yacht Club, this afternoon received Mr. Peter Haslehurst upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice Commodore and Mr. Michael Gardner upon assuming the appointment.
Captain David Freeman RN (Secretary) was present.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Transaid, this morning attended the Transport News Scottish Rewards 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Congress Road, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Robert Winter, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).
Her Royal Highness, Honorary Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, afterwards attended the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow’s Triennial Conference at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow.
The Princess Royal this afternoon opened the Riverside Museum at 100 Pointhouse Place, Glasgow.
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened the Day Hospice Extension at Overgate Hospice, 30 Hullenedge Road, Elland, and was received by Mr. John Brennan (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).
His Royal Highness afterwards presented a Queen’s Award for Innovation to Radio Design Limited, Shipley Wharf, Wharf Street, Shipley.
The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited Leeds College of Building, North Street, Leeds.
His Royal Highness later visited Clock House Farm, Ribston Farms, Hunsingore, near Wetherby.
The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, the Medical Women’s Federation, this afternoon attended a Meeting at the Connaught Rooms, 61-65 Great Queen Street, London WC2.
