Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Baroness Rawlings (Baroness in Waiting) was present at Heathrow airport, London, this evening upon the arrival of The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited military patients and members of staff at the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Mindelsohn Way, Edgbaston, Birmingham.

His Royal Highness later received General Sir Peter Wall (Chief of the General Staff).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this evening attended a concert in aid of The Prince’s Trust and the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in attendance.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Helen and Douglas House, this afternoon received children from Helen and Douglas House and from the London Taxis fund for underprivileged children and helped them to decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House.

The Duke of York this afternoon received Alderman David Wootton (the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor).

His Royal Highness this evening gave a reception at Buckingham Palace on the occasion of the Young Global Leaders UK — London Summit.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and Patron, London Mozart Players, and The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a concert and dinner at Windsor Castle.

The Princess Royal this morning attended a reception to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Tamar Bridge at the Guildhall, Lower Fore Street, Saltash, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho).

Her Royal Highness, President, Victim Support, this afternoon opened the Willow Centre, Truro Health Park, Infirmary Hill, Truro, Cornwall.

The Princess Royal later visited the Devon and Cornwall affordable housing scheme at Tregew Meadow, Flushing, Falmouth, Cornwall.

Her Royal Highness, President, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, this evening attended a dinner at the Mansion House, Cirencester Park, Gloucestershire.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon officially opened the new accommodation block at the Somme Nursing Home, 121 Circular Road, Belfast, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Mary Peters).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, this evening attended Fleming Fulton School’s Christmas show at the Belfast Waterfront Hall.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, today received Mr. Petar Kostic (Grand Master, Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia) and Mr. Ranko Vujacic (Grand Master designate).
