COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Her Excellency Mrs. Karine Kazinian was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Armenia to the Court of St. James’s.

Her Excellency Mrs. Alice Thomas Samaan was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Bahrain to the Court of St. James’s.

Mr. Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

General Sir David Richards (Chief of the Defence Staff) was received by The Queen.

The Queen this afternoon opened the Rolls Building, Royal Courts of Justice, 100 Fetter Lane, London EC4, and, having been received with a Royal Salute, was received by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor (Alderman David Wootton), the Lord Chief Justice (the Lord Judge), the Lord Chancellor (the Rt. Hon. Kenneth Clarke MP) and the Master of the Rolls (the Lord Neuberger).

Her Majesty toured the building, meeting members of staff and officials, and was briefed on the work of selected Courts.

The Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Air Chief Marshal Sir Simon Bryant (Aide-de-Camp Air) at the Memorial Service for Air Chief Marshal Sir Brian Burnett (formerly Aide-de-Camp Air) which was held in St. Mary’s Church, Wimbledon, London SW19, this afternoon.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Lieutenant Commander Sir Richard Buckley RN.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Birdwood.

The Duchess of Gloucester was represented by Mr. Peter Bretherton.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, the Cambrian Mountain Initiative, this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness afterwards held a College of Medicine Mental Health Faculty Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales later received Mr. Roderick Jarman (Chairman, Youth United).

His Royal Highness this evening attended The Prince’s Charities International Sustainability Unit Marine Meeting and Reception at St. James’s Palace.

The Prince of Wales later gave a Dinner for The Prince’s Charities International Sustainability Unit Marine Programme at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, the Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust, this morning attended the Charity Day at Icap plc, 2 Broadgate, London EC2.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the West of England School and College for Children with Little or No Sight, this afternoon received the Countess of Arran upon relinquishing her appointment as President and Lady Clifford of Chudleigh upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of York this afternoon received Mr. Nicholas Candy (Chief Executive, Candy and Candy).

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, later held a Development Board Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Honorary Colonel, The London Regiment, this evening attended a Carol Concert and took the salute at the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London.

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this morning visited the South Buckinghamshire Group at Mill House Farm, Framewood Road, Stoke Poges, Slough, and was received by Mr. Alexander Boswell (Deputy Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Wooden Spoon Society, this afternoon opened the Wooden Spoon Extension to the Red Balloon Learner Centre, 13 Kenton Road, Harrow, Middlesex, and was received by Mr. John Purnell (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this afternoon chaired a Council Meeting at Royal Thames Yacht Club, 60 Knightsbridge, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, President, the Mission to Seafarers, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in St. Michael Paternoster Royal, College Hill, London EC4.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Guild of the Royal Hospital of St Bartholomew, this evening attended the Annual Carol Concert in the Great Hall at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, West Smithfield, London EC1.

The Duchess of Gloucester this morning officially opened the new building at Jordanstown School, 85 Jordanstown, Newton Abbey, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim (Mrs. Joan Christie).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning visited Broadway School, the Broadway, Perry Barr, Birmingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr. Paul Sabapathy).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the 49th Rifle and Pistol Club, 136 Adderley Road, Birmingham.

The Duke of Kent afterwards visited the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Westbourne Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, and presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation to Probrand Limited.

His Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 1 Rifles, later visited injured Service Personnel at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Mindlesohn Way, Edgbaston.

The Duke of Kent subsequently visited Probrand Limited, 45 Camden Street, Hockley, Birmingham.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Patron, Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service, this afternoon received Captain Helen Allkins at Buckingham Palace upon relinquishing her appointment as Director Naval Nursing Service and Matron-in-Chief, and Captain Inga Kennedy upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Higness, President, Friends of the Victoria and Albert Museum, received Mr. Martin Roth upon assuming his appointment as Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Princess Alexandra this evening attended the Whitehall Carol Service in Westminster Abbey, London SW1.
