St James’s Palace 

Prince Henry of Wales, representing The Queen, today carried out the following engagements in Belize to mark Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

His Royal Highness this morning visited the Organisation of American States Adjacency Zone at the Belizean Guatemalan border.

Prince Henry of Wales afterwards visited the Xunantunich Mayan historical site.

His Royal Highness this afternoon launched a Jubilee Canoe for the Ruta Maya Children’s Team at Mopan River.

Prince Henry of Wales later laid a wreath at Price Barracks, Ladyville, in memory of British soldiers who have died whilst serving in Belize.

His Royal Highness subsequently departed Ladyville for the Bahamas and was received this evening upon arrival in Nassau by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (Sir Arthur Foulkes).

The Duke of York this morning arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from Thailand.

Mrs Amanda Thirsk and Squadron Leader Charlotte Fenn RAF were in attendance.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning arrived in Port Zante, St Kitts and Nevis, West Indies, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, and were received by the Governor-General of the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis (His Excellency Sir Cuthbert Sebastian).

Their Royal Highnesses later opened the Royal Basseterre National Park and were received by Mr Denzil Douglas MP (Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis).

The Earl and Countess of Wessex today visited Brimstone Hill Fortress, National Park, Basseterre.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon visited the Paediatric Ward of Joseph N. France Hospital, Basseterre.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex afterwards visited St Christopher’s Children’s Home, Basseterre.

Their Royal Highnesses this evening attended a State Dinner given by His Excellency the Governor-General of the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis at Friar Bay.
