COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle 

The following were received in audience by The Queen at Windsor Castle this afternoon and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Graham Styles (Republic of Guinea) and Mr Ross Denny (Bolivia).

Mrs Styles and Mrs Denny were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Paul Madden was received by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to Australia.

Mrs Madden was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Ric Todd was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Governor of Turks and Caicos Islands.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening gave a Reception for the organisers and supporters of the Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited the Business and Technology Centre, Bessemer Drive, Stevenage, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire (the Countess of Verulam).

St James’s Palace 

The Duchess of Cambridge this morning visited the Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Mr Nigel Sherlock).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Elswick Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, to mark the Park’s new status as a Queen Elizabeth II Field.

The Duchess of Cambridge this afternoon visited Key Fund, 12 Gladstone Terrace, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Action on Addiction, later visited Action on Addiction’s Moving Parents And Children Together programme at CRI, 32-34 William Street, Stockton-on-Tees, and was received by Mr Alasdair MacConachie (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham).

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning received Mr Thomas Crotty (Director, Ineos Group).

His Royal Highness received the Rt Hon Hugo Swire MP (Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office).

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Caledonian Club, 9 Halkin Street, Belgravia, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, Commodore-in- Chief, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, afterwards held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Royal Honorary Colonel, this evening attended The London Regiment Colonel’s Dinner at 95 Horseferry Road, London SW1.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this morning opened the Science Centre at Benenden School, Cranbrook Road, Benenden, Cranbrook, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Maritime Studies Centre at Walmer Science College, Salisbury Road, Walmer, Deal, Kent.

The Princess Royal, President, the Mission to Seafarers Limited, later attended the Annual National Service for Seafarers in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness this evening gave the Diamond Jubilee Lecture and attended a Dinner at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park, Windsor Castle, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss).

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Anglian Regiment, this afternoon visited 2nd Battalion at Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore, Oakham, Rutland.

The Duchess of Gloucester this morning visited the Day Hospice at North London Hospice Enfield, 110 Barrowell Green, London N21, and was received by Mr Graham Eustance (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Royal President, The Children’s Society, this afternoon received Mr Matthew Reed (Chief Executive).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Asthma UK, later attended a Reception to mark the Thirtieth Anniversary of the annual Gift Fair at the Hurlingham Club, Ranelagh Gardens, London SW6.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent this morning departed from Uganda for South Africa and later arrived in Johannesburg.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a presentation Wheelchair Tennis South Africa event at Johannesburg University.

The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, later visited the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Johannesburg.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Business Reception given by the United Kingdom Trade and Investment in Johannesburg.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra, President, this afternoon presented Royal Humane Society Awards at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Vice Patron, this evening attended a Gala Concert to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition at St James’s Palace.
