COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle 

Air Vice Marshal the Hon David Murray was received by The Queen today upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Services Secretary when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Rear Admiral Simon Williams was received by The Queen upon assuming his appointment as Defence Services Secretary.

The Duke of Edinburgh today received Air Vice Marshal the Hon David Murray upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Services Secretary and Rear Admiral Simon Williams upon assuming the appointment.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Cambridge, Patron, 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ Philanthropic Initiatives, and Royal Patron, Skill Force, this evening attended a Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this morning opened the Abraham Darby Academy, Ironbridge Road, Madeley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire (Mr Algernon Heber-Percy).

His Royal Highness, Commodore-in-Chief, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and Patron, Royal Fleet Auxiliary Association, this afternoon attended a Service of Dedication, followed by a Reception, at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, and was received by Colonel Michael Beatty (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire).

The Earl of Wessex later visited the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge, and was received by Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz (Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire).

His Royal Highness, Patron, ADC Theatre, this evening attended a performance of Bartholomew Fayre by Ben Jonson performed by the Marlowe Society at the Theatre, Park Street, Cambridge.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Patron, Restorative Justice Council, this morning visited Walworth Academy, Shorncliffe Road, London SE1.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Canadian Forces Communications and Electronics Branch, and Colonel-in-Chief, The Grey and Simcoe Foresters, this afternoon received Major General David Neasmith (Branch Leader) Brigadier General Michel Charron (Colonel-Commandant), Major Allan Ferriss (Liaison Officer of the Canadian Forces Communications and Electronics Branch) and Major John Fisher (Regimental Major of The Grey and Simcoe Foresters).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Horse Trust, this evening attended the One Hundred and Twenty Fifth Anniversary Reception at Wellington Arch, Apsley Way, Hyde Park Corner, London W1.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Allpay Limited, Fortis et Fides, Whitestone Business Park, Whitestone, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire (the Countess of Darnley).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Hereford Skatepark, Holmer Road, Hereford.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited the Courtyard, Herefordshire’s Centre for the Arts, Edgar Street, Hereford.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent this evening departed Johannesburg, South Africa, for the United Kingdom.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this afternoon attended a Ceremony to re-dedicate the Main Gate “Elizabeth Gate” to commemorate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the Royal Botanic Gardens, 49 Kew Green, Richmond, Surrey, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).
