COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Queen, Patron, and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Royal Variety Performance in aid of the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, London, SW7, and were received Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the President of the Royal Albert Hall (Ms Peta Travis) and the Life President of the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund (Mr Laurie Mansfield).

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Malta and were received upon arrival this afternoon at Luqa International Airport by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta (His Excellency Mr Robert Luke).

Their Royal Highnesses this evening attended a Reception and Ceremonial Sunset on board HMS Illustrious.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex later attended a Dinner given by the British High Commissioner at the Residence.

Brigadier John Smedley and Mrs. Rosemary Hamer are in attendance.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Commandant-in-Chief, First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps), was represented by Major General Nicholas Cottam (Hononary Colonel) at the Funeral of Commandant Anne Cockram (formerly Commanding Officer) which was held in St Stephen’s Church, Rochester Row, London SW1, this afternoon.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, Patron, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, this evening attended a Dinner for Honorary Fellows at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London SE10.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra, President, Sightsavers, this evening attended a Reception to mark the launch of the River Blindness Elimination Campaign at the Residence of Her Majesty’s Consul-General, New York, United States of America.
