COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

Mr Simon Martin was received by The Queen this morning upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps and delivered up to Her Majesty his Chain of Office.

Ms Anna Clunes was received by Her Majesty and received her Chain of Office upon her appointment as Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps.

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, today received Colonel Frazer Lawrence upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 1st Battalion.

Her Majesty, Colonel-in-Chief, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, received Lieutenant Colonel Robaird Boyd upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 2nd Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Neil Unsworth upon assuming the appointment.

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, received Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Kennedy upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 4th Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel John Lighten upon assuming the appointment.

Brigadier Michael Griffiths (Colonel of the Regiment) was also received by Her Majesty.

The following members of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The Queen: Lieutenant Colonel Peter Chamberlin who delivered up his Stick of Office upon his retirement as Lieutenant, Major Jeremy Warren who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Lieutenant, Colonel Robin Broke who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant, Major Michael Webster who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Standard Bearer, Major General Jonathan Hall who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Standard Bearer, Colonel Michael Robertson who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Harbinger and Major Edward Crofton who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Harbinger of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

Mr Dominic Jermey was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to United Arab Emirates.

Mrs Jermey was also received by Her Majesty.

Mrs Linda Cross was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to El Salvador.

Mr Michael Cross was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Robert Gibson was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Bangladesh.

Mr Mark Capes was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as Governor of St Helena.

Mrs Capes was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh held an Evening Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Diplomatic Corps at which The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Conservation Volunteers, this morning received Mr Thomas Flood upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive and Ms Julie Hopes upon assuming the appointment.

Ms Rita Clifton (Chairman) was present.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Life Member, Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, afterwards presented The Prince Philip Medal at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Isles, today received Dr Mark Collins (Chairman of the Galapagos Conservation Trust) and Mr Ian Dunn (Chief Executive).

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Teaching Institute, this morning visited Pimlico Academy, Lupus Street, London SW1, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice LordLieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness today received Mr Gregory Doran (Artistic Director, Royal Shakespeare Company).

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this afternoon chaired a Meeting of The Prince’s Council.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the Fan Museum, this morning received Mrs Hélène Alexander (Director and Curator).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, St John’s Smith Square Charitable Trust, received Mr Paul Davies upon relinquishing his appointment as General Manager.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning visited the Chinese Silk Culture and Embroidery Art Exhibition at the Bank of China, 1 Lothbury, London EC2.

His Royal Highness was this afternoon called to the Bench as a Royal Bencher at the Bench Call Ceremony in Middle Temple Hall, London EC4.

The Duke of York later opened Fulham Enterprise Studio, Kingwood Road, Fulham, London SW6.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today attended Receptions for young people who have reached the Gold Standard in the Award at St James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Countess of Wessex this morning received Captain Guy Robinson upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of HMS Daring and Captain Angus Essenhigh upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Meningitis Trust, this evening attended a Christmas Carol Concert in St Lawrence Jewry Church, Guildhall Yard, Gresham Street, London EC2.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this morning visited HMS Talent at HM Naval Base Devonport, Plymouth, Devon.

Her Royal Highness, President, the Mission to Seafarers, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at St Michael Paternoster Royal, College Hill, London EC4, followed by a Reception at Skinners’ Hall, 8 Dowgate Hill, London EC4.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Action on Smoking and Health, this afternoon attended the Annual General Meeting and Seminar at the Royal College of Physicians, 11 St Andrews Place, Regent’s Park, London NW1.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent this morning visited East Malling Research Centre, New Road, East Malling, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (Viscount De L’Isle).

His Royal Highness later visited LycoRed Limited, Nutriblend House, Priory Park, Mills Road, Aylesford, Kent.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited Kent History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra, Joint President, this evening attended a Carol Concert for Cancer Research UK in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.
