Buckingham Palace

The Queen held a Council at 12.40 pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State, Department for Education), the Lord McNally (Deputy Leader of the House of Lords and Minister of State, Ministry of Justice) and the Rt Hon George Osborne MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer, HM Treasury).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

Later The King and Queen of the Netherlands visited The Queen and remained to Tea.

The Baroness Rawlings (Baroness in Waiting) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this afternoon upon the Arrival of The King and Queen of the Netherlands and welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of The Queen.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, this morning attended the annual degree show at 19-22 Charlotte Road, Shoreditch, London EC2.

His Royal Highness, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales later received the Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Confederation of Service Charities, this evening attended a Reception at Peterborough Court, 133 Fleet Street, London EC4.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, afterwards attended a Reception for the Parachute Regiment Afghanistan Trust at the Honourable Artillery Company, Armoury House, City Road, London EC1.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, East Molesey, Surrey, and was received by Sir Kenneth Knight (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, this afternoon attended the launch of Code Club in Camden at Camden Community Learning Centre, Charrington Street, London NW1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Trampery, later opened the Trampery London Fields, 125-127 Mare Street, London E8.

The Duke of York, Patron, this evening attended the Lucifer Golfing Society Commonwealth Reception at the Savoy Hotel, Strand, London WC2.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today held Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

His Royal Highness, Vice Patron, Commonwealth Games Federation, his afternoon received His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma (Commonwealth Secretary General).

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Remus Horse Sanctuary, Little Farm, Buttsbury Road, Ingatestone, in celebration of their Thirtieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Columbus School and College, Partridge Avenue, Chelmsford, Essex.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, President, Animal Health Trust, today held a Fellowship Reception at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, National Institute of Adult Continuing Education, this afternoon attended the Community Learning Innovation Fund Seminar at the Abbey Centre, 34 Great Smith Street, London SW1.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Development Trust (for the Mentally Handicapped), afterwards received Mr Christopher Sporborg (Chairman) and Mr Robin Carter (Director) at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, this evening held a Seventieth Anniversary Reception for Tenovus at Buckingham Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning officially opened the new joint cadet centre for Army Cadets and Air Cadets at the Cadet Centre, Wharf Road, Newton Abbot, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Sir Eric Dancer).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited SRA Developments Limited, Bremridge House, Ashburton, Devon.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited Flybe Training Academy, New Walker Hangar, Exeter International Airport.
