COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning arrived at Haverfordwest Railway Station and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed (the Hon Robin Lewis) and the Mayor of Haverfordwest (Councillor Jackie Westrup).

The Queen drove to Cotts Equine Centre, Cotts Farm, Robeston Wathen, Narberth, and was received by the Directors (Mr Graham Fouke and Mr John Edwards).

Her Majesty, escorted by Mr Edwards, toured the equine hospital, viewing the “Knock Down and Recovery Suite”, Operating Theatre, Nurses’ Station and horses, and met members of the veterinary team, grooms and other staff members.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Princes Gate Spring Water, New House Farm, Princes Gate, Narberth, and were received by the Managing Director (Mr David Jones) and Mr Glyn Jones (Director).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Managing Director and Director, toured the factory, viewing the bottling and packing processes and bottle-making equipment, and met members of staff, customers and representatives of the company’s charities.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by Pembrokeshire County Council at Picton Castle, Haverfordwest.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness later visited the Royal Dockyard Chapel, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, and were received by the Chairman of the Pembroke Dock Townscape Heritage Initiative (Councillor Brian Hall), the Co-ordinator of the Pembroke Dock Bi-Centenary Group (Mr Martin Cavaney) and the Mayor of Pembroke Dock (Councillor James Phillips).

The Queen, assisted by local schoolchildren, unveiled a curved timeline wall outside the Chapel.

Her Majesty subsequently opened the Royal Dockyard Chapel as the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.

The Queen, escorted by the Chairman of Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust (Mr William McNamara), and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by the Sunderland Trust Project Manager (Mr John Evans), toured the restored Chapel, viewing an exhibition of the maritime, military and social history of Pembroke Dock, and met community volunteers and representatives of Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Puffin Produce Limited, Withybush, Haverfordwest, and was received by Miss Sara Edwards (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed).

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency the Hon Michael Rann at Australia House, Strand, London WC2, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia in London.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today held Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

His Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon visited the offices of the British Paralympic Association, 60 Charlotte Street, London W1.

The Earl of Wessex, President, Seafarers UK, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, President, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, this morning opened Carole House, 213 Basford Park Road, Basford, Newcastle-under-Lyme, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr Ian Dudson).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened “the Story of JCB” at JCB World Headquarters, Rocester, Staffordshire.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the National Autistic Society, afterwards opened the Autism Centre at Chesterfield College, Infirmary Road, Chesterfield, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr William Tucker).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, President, British Olympic Association, this morning attended a Board Meeting at 60 Charlotte Street, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, President, the City and Guilds of London Institute, this afternoon presented The Prince Philip Medal, the Highly Commended Certificate, the President’s Award and Livery Company prizes at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Voluntary Service Overseas, later received Miss Margaret Mayne (Chief Executive) and Mrs Angela Salt (Director, Voluntary Service Overseas UK).

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children UK, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Dinner at the Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square, London WC1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Ambition UK, this morning visited Poplar Boys and Girls Club, 75 Chrisp Street, London E14.

His Royal Highness, President, Ambition UK, later visited Spotlight, 30 Hay Currie Street, London E14.

The Duke of Gloucester, Joint President, Cancer Research UK, this evening attended a Benefactors’ Dinner at Kensington Palace.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, National Association for Decorative and Fine Arts Societies, this afternoon received Mr. Christopher Lloyd upon relinquishing his appointment as President and Mr. Loyd Grossman upon assuming the appointment.

Dr. Florian Schweizer (Chief Executive) was present.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this evening attended the Eve of Investiture Dinner at Lincoln’s Inn, London WC2.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, President, Sightsavers, this morning attended a Meeting with Dr. Ehsan Saleh Al-Taieb (Secretary General, International Islamic Relief Organization, Saudi Arabia) and Dr. Mohammad Al Haddad (Medical Director) at the Intercontinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (His Excellency Mr. Dominic Jermey) at the Residence.
