Mr. Richard Moore was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.
Mrs. Moore was also received by Her Majesty.
The Earl Attlee was received by The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as a Lord in Waiting to Her Majesty.
The Baroness Williams of Trafford was received by The Queen upon assuming her appointment as a Baroness in Waiting to Her Majesty.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Federation of London Youth Clubs, this morning visited Hindleap Warren Outdoor Education Centre, Wych Cross, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr. Peter Field).
His Royal Highness, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, this evening presided over a Conference at Buckingham Palace attended by the Colonels of the Regiments of the Household Division and subsequently entertained the Colonels to Dinner.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, accompanied by The Duke of Cambridge, this morning chaired a Meeting of The Prince’s Council at Clarence House.
His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Drawing School, this afternoon held a Meeting at Clarence House.
The Prince of Wales, Colonel, Welsh Guards, this evening attended the Senior Colonels’ Conference and Dinner at Buckingham Palace.
His Royal Highness, President, the Royal Ballet, was represented by the Marchioness of Douro (Chairman of the Governors of the Royal Ballet School) at the Service of Thanksgiving for Miss Gailene Stock (Director of the Royal Ballet School) which was held in St. Paul’s Church, Covent Garden, London WC2, this morning.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, London College of Fashion, later opened the Textile Training and Manufacturing Social Enterprise at HM Prison Holloway, Parkhurst Road, London N7.

Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened the restored Torre Abbey, the King’s Drive, Torquay, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Sir Eric Dancer).
His Royal Highness later opened the South West Energy Centre, Long Road, Paignton, Devon.
The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited Community, Equality Disability Action Limited, the Clare Milne Centre, Emperor Way, Exeter Business Park, Exeter, to commemorate its Tenth Anniversary.
His Royal Highness afterwards re-opened the Walronds, 6 Fore Street, Cullompton, Devon, which has been newly restored.
