COURT CIRCULAR

Hillsborough Castle, County Down

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport, London, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP (Secretary of State for Transport), the Chairman of Heathrow Airport Limited (Sir Nigel Rudd), Mr Colin Matthews (Chief Executive Officer) and the Mayor of the London Borough of Hillingdon (Councillor Catherine Dann).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness toured the building, meeting security officers and members of the operation team and other members of staff, before The Queen officially opened The Queen’s Terminal.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards departed Heathrow Airport for Belfast and were received upon arrival at George Best Belfast City Airport by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Mary Peters).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove to Hillsborough Castle and were received on arrival by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Down (Mr David Lindsay) and the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP (Secretary of State for Northern Ireland).

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland was received in audience by Her Majesty this evening.

The Rt Hon Peter Robinson MLA (First Minister of the Northern Ireland Assembly) was received in audience by The Queen.

Mr Martin McGuinness MLA (Deputy First Minister of the Northern Ireland Assembly) was received by Her Majesty.

Mr Michael Day (Chief Executive, Historic Royal Palaces) was received by The Queen.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this evening attended a Reception at Hillsborough Castle for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Unal Cevikoz at 43 Belgrave Square, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Turkey to the Court of St James’s.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon gave a Reception for medical staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court.

His Royal Highness this evening held a Dinner for The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation at Windsor Castle.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum, this morning opened the Welcome Building, Westonbirt Arboretum, Westonbirt, Tetbury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

Her Royal Highness afterwards opened the renovated headquarters of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Mrs Peter Troughton).

The Duchess of Cornwall this evening opened an exhibition of portraits by the British artist Catherine Goodman (Artistic Director, The Prince’s Drawing School), at the National Portrait Gallery, St Martin’s Place, London WC2.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patrons, The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, this evening attended a Reception to mark the work of the Foundation at the Orangery, Kensington Palace.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this morning arrived at Brasilia Military Airbase, Brasilia, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil (His Excellency Mr Alexander Ellis).

His Royal Highness later visited the Rede Sarah Hospital in Brasilia.

Prince Henry of Wales this evening attended the Fédération Internationale de Football Association 2014 Football World Cup Match between Brazil and Cameroon at Brasilia National Stadium.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this afternoon presented the Awards for the Peer to Peer Challenge at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness later received Mr. Philip Parham (Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Designate).

The Duke of York this evening attended the Reception for the Summer Ball at the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today held Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

His Royal Highness, Chairman, International Special Projects, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon chaired a Board Meeting.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Founders, The Wessex Youth Trust, this evening gave a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, this morning visited their offices at 2 White Hart Yard, London SE1, and signed the International Communication Project 2014 Public Pledge.

Her Royal Highness, Grand President, St John Ambulance in the Priory of England and the Islands, this afternoon received the Rt Hon Virginia Lovell upon relinquishing her appointment as Chief President and Mr Nicholas Williams upon assuming the appointment.

The Countess of Wessex later chaired a Charities Forum.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Colonel, 6th Battalion The Rifles, this morning visited the Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum at Peninsula Barracks, Romsey Road, Winchester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended the Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony and afterwards unveiled the “To Honour a Promise” Memorial in Castle Yard, Castle Avenue, Winchester.

The Duke of Gloucester subsequently attended a Luncheon at Serle’s House, Southgate Street, Winchester.

His Royal Highness later visited the Department of Archaeology at the University of Winchester, Sparkford Road, Winchester.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, this morning attended the Opening Day of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at Church Road, London SW19.
