The Princess Royal, Patron, l’Arche Edinburgh “Coming of Age” Appeal, this morning opened the new l’Arche House, 10A Restalrig Crescent, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr Kingsley Thomas (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).
Her Royal Highness, Old Master and Honorary Member, Company of Merchants of the City of Edinburgh, this afternoon opened the Flats for the Frail and Elderly, 2 Little Road, Liberton, Edinburgh.
The Princess Royal, Old Master and Honorary Member, Company of Merchants of the City of Edinburgh, later attended a Luncheon at the Merchants’ Hall, 22 Hanover Street, Edinburgh.
Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Wise, subsequently visited women involved in the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier project and engineering, and viewed the Carrier at Rosyth Royal Dockyard, Dunfermline, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mrs Margaret Dean).
The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of Edinburgh, this evening held the Chancellor’s Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened John Gray Centre, 15 Lodge Street, Haddington, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Lothian (Major Michael Williams).
His Royal Highness this afternoon opened the restored Penicuik House and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Midlothian (Sir Robert Clerk, Bt.).
The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Dryden Aqua Limited, Butlerfield Industrial Estate, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian.
