The Prince of Wales this morning received General Sir Peter Wall upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief of the General Staff and General Sir Nicholas Carter upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness received Mr Michael Day (Chief Executive, Historic Royal Palaces), Ms Catherine Fitzgerald (Landscape Designer) and Mr Mark Lutyens (Landscape Architect).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon received the winner of the Pride of Britain Achiever of the Year Award.

His Royal Highness received Mr Brandon Lewis MP (Minister of State for Communities and Local Government) and the Rt Hon John Hayes MP (Minister of State for Transport).

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, later attended a Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry Reception for Veterans Employment at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), The Duke of Cambridge (Patron, Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry) and Prince Henry of Wales (Patron).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Halton, this morning received Group Captain Simon Harper upon relinquishing his appointment as Station Commander and Group Captain Adrian Burns upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 4th Battalion The Rifles, received Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Bewick upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Carl Boswell upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Henry of Wales, President, this evening attended the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, the Outward Bound Trust, this morning attended a Board Meeting, followed by Lunch, at Ullswater Centre, Watermillock, Penrith, Cumbria.

His Royal Highness, Commodore-in-Chief, Fleet Air Arm, this afternoon visited HMS Gannet and Gannet Search and Rescue Flight, HMS Gannet, Monkton, Ayrshire.

Buckingham Palace

The Countess of Wessex this morning opened the Sanctuary at Thames Hospice, Pine Lodge, Hatch Lane, Windsor, and was received by Lady Stevenson (Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this evening held a Dinner at Windsor Castle.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, President, Carers Trust, this morning opened the Redrow Builders Show Home, Shaw Hill, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire (the Lord Shuttleworth).

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children UK, this afternoon visited the North West Save the Children to mark their Fiftieth Anniversary, Gibbon Bridge Hotel and Restaurant, Chipping, Preston, Lancashire.

The Princess Royal later visited David Moss Boatbuilders at Skippool Creek, Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Japan Society, this afternoon received Sir David Warren (Chairman) and Ms. Heidi Potter (Chief Executive).

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon opened the community link footpath at Ford Park Community Group, Ford House, Ford Park, Ulverston, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Mrs. Peter Hensman).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited St. Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary, and opened the Cavendish Wing.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers, later visited Owen Jones Oak Swill Baskets, Spout Meadow, High Nibthwaite, Ulverston.
