Buckingham Palace

The President of the United Mexican States this morning attended a Breakfast Meeting given by the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Deputy Prime Minister) for United Kingdom-Mexico Senior Business Leaders at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York was present to hear the conclusions of the Meeting.

The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Leader of the Liberal Democrats) subsequently called upon The President.

The President of the United Mexican States afterwards delivered the Canning Lecture at Lancaster House, St. James’s, London SW1, and was received by the Honorary President (Ms Miriam González Durántez) and the Rt Hon Hugo Swire MP (Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office).

The President of the United Mexican States this afternoon visited No. 10 Downing Street, had talks with the Prime Minister and subsequently witnessed the signing of the Joint Declaration reinforcing the bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and Mexico.

The President was entertained to Luncheon by the Prime Minister on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government.

The President of the United Mexican States afterwards delivered an Address on “Investment Opportunities in Mexico” to close the “Mexico Day” Business Forum at Mansion House, London EC4, and was received by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor (Alderman Alan Yarrow) and the Director of ProMexico (Mr Francisco Gonzalez).

The Rt Hon Edward Miliband MP (Leader of the Opposition) later called upon The President at Buckingham Palace.

The President of the United Mexican States and Señora Angélica Rivera de Peña this evening received an Address of Welcome and were entertained at a Banquet by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation at Guildhall.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

Señora Angélica Rivera de Peña, accompanied by The Countess of Wessex, this morning visited the set of the television drama series “Downton Abbey” at Ditchley Park and was received by Mr John Harwood (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire).

The Baroness Northover was received by The Queen today and took leave upon relinquishing her appointment as Baroness in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Lord Bates of Langbaurgh was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Lord in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Air League, this morning received Air Chief Marshal Sir Brian Burridge upon relinquishing his appointment as President and Sir Roger Bone upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Admiral and Member, Royal Yacht Squadron, received the Hon Christopher Sharples (Commodore).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge today carried out the following engagements in China.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Mengman Village, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture.

The Duke of Cambridge afterwards visited the Asian Elephant Sanctuary, Xishuangbanna.

His Royal Highness later visited Wild Elephant Valley, Xishuangbanna.

The Duke of Cambridge afterwards visited Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Gardens.

His Royal Highness subsequently attended the Conservation on the Border Conference at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Gardens.

The Duke of Cambridge this evening departed from Hong Kong International Airport for the United Kingdom.

The Duke of York this afternoon received Dr Hayat Sindi (Founder and Chief Executive, institute for imagination and ingenuity).

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Honorary Colonel, Royal Wessex Yeomanry, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Christopher MacGregor upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel John Godfrey upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal this morning arrived in Jersey and was received by the Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief (General Sir John McColl).

Her Royal Highness later opened the new Jersey Youth Service facilities, St James Centre, St James Street, St Helier.

The Princess Royal afterwards attended a Royal Air Force Association (Jersey Branch) Ninetieth Anniversary Reception at Hotel de France, St Saviours Road, St Helier.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, this afternoon visited the Trust, les Augrès Manor, la Profonde Rue, Trinity.

The Princess Royal, President, RedR UK, this evening attended a Reception at Lloyd’s of London, One Lime Street, London EC3.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Public Monuments and Sculpture Association, this afternoon received Mr. John Lewis (Chairman) and Mr. Jolyon Drury (Trustee).
