COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Mrs Sirisena visited The Queen today.

Air Vice Marshal Michael Wigston was received by Her Majesty this afternoon upon his appointment as Commander British Forces Cyprus.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Irfan Siddiq (the Republic of Azerbaijan), Mr Charles Garrett (the Republic of Macedonia) and Ms Joanne Adamson (the Republic of Mali).

Mrs Siddiq, Mrs Garrett and Ms Elizabeth Eastwood were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr John Duncan was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as Governor of the British Virgin Islands.

Her Majesty, Patron, London Symphony Orchestra Limited, this evening gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace with a performance by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Mr Simon Halsey was received by The Queen later when Her Majesty presented him with The Queen’s Medal for Music.

The Lord Berkeley (representing the Master of The Queen’s Music) was present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

His Royal Highness, Freeman and Liveryman, the Fishmongers’ Company, later attended a Court Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Ulysses Trust, this morning received Air Vice Marshal Nicholas Kurth (Chairman of the Trustees).

His Royal Highness, President, Business in the Community, this afternoon attended a Reception for Business Connectors at the Abbey Centre, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales later attended a Charities Conference at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall today attended the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron, National Portrait Gallery, this morning visited Turner Contemporary, Rendezvous, Margate, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Resort Studios, 50 Athelstan Road, Margate.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, Young Engineers, this morning visited the Big Bang Fair at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, and was received by Colonel George Marsh (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Lieutenant General Sir Simon Mayall upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Senior Advisor Middle East at the Ministry of Defence and Lieutenant General Thomas Beckett upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of York, Royal Bencher, the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, this evening attended a Dinner at Lincoln’s Inn, London WC2.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex this morning visited St Michael’s Church, Old London Road, Mickleham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Dame Sarah Goad).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited High Ashurst Outdoor Centre, Headley Lane, Mickleham.

The Earl of Wessex later visited Dorking Museum and Heritage Centre and South Street Caves, 62 West Street, Dorking, and was received by Mr Adrian White (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).

The Countess of Wessex, President, Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, this morning attended the Farm and Country Day at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, UK Youth, this morning received Mrs Anna Smee upon assuming her appointment as Chief Executive.

Mrs Anne Stoneham (Chairman) was present.

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of London, later attended the International Programmes Graduation Ceremony, Barbican Centre, Silk Street London EC2.

The Princess Royal, President, Carers Trust, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Royal Horse Guards Hotel, 2 Whitehall Court, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Her Royal Highness, Honorary Air Commodore, University of London Air Squadron, received Squadron Leader Christopher Talbot RAF upon relinquishing his appointment as Officer Commanding and Squadron Leader Benjamin Plank RAF upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended a Court Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited Ranfurly House Arts and Visitor Centre, 26 Market Square, Dungannon, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Tyrone (Mr. Robert Scott).

His Royal Highness subsequently visited the Royal School Dungannon, Ranfurly Road, Dungannon, to mark its Four Hundredth Anniversary.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Greiner Packaging Limited, Killyman Road Industrial Estate, Killyman Road, Dungannon, to mark its Tenth Anniversary.

His Royal Highness later viewed the Exhibition entitled “War at Sea” and attended a Reception at the Somme Heritage Centre, 233 Bangor Road, Newtownards, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Down (Mr. David Lindsay).
