Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by Prince William, Earl of Strathearn and The Princess Royal, this morning attended a Service in St Giles’ Cathedral of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle and were received at the West Door by the Chancellor of the Thistle (the Earl of Airlie) and the Minister of St Giles’ (the Reverend Calum MacLeod).

Marquess of Lorne (Page of Honour to The Queen) was in attendance.

A Guard of Honour was mounted in Parliament Square West by The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, with the Colours of the Royal Company, under the command of Lieutenant, Sir Michael Strang-Steel, Bt, and accompanied by the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Lunch Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for the Knights of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by The Princess Royal, this evening visited The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers at Archers’ Hall, 66 Buccleuch Street, Edinburgh, and were received by the Captain General (the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were represented by Field Marshal the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank (formerly Aide-de-Camp General) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of General Sir Robert Ford (formerly Aide-de-Camp General) which was held in the Chapel of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Brigadier Clendon Daukes.

The Princess Royal was represented by Leonora, Countess of Lichfield.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Mr Nicolas Adamson.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Talgarth Mill, the Mill House, the Square, Talgarth, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Powys (the Hon Dame Shân Legge-Bourke).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited St Mary’s Church, Abergavenny, Monk Street, Abergavenny, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent (Brigadier Robert Aitken).

The Prince of Wales afterwards opened Abergavenny Fine Food Company, Gilchrist Thomas Estate, Blaenavon, Gwent.

His Royal Highness later visited the Village Hall, Garth, Powys.

The Prince of Wales this evening held a Reception for His Royal Highness’s organisations in Wales.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning viewed a demonstration by Welsh Hill Ponies and attended a Reception near Cwmdu for those involved in their conservation.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Emmaus UK, this afternoon visited Emmaus South Wales, Nant Lais, Bridgend, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan (Mrs Kathrin Thomas).

Prince Henry of Wales this morning visited King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, London SE5.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, On Course Foundation, this afternoon attended the On Course Golf Day at the Royal Household Golf Club, Windsor Castle.

His Royal Highness later visited the Institution of Engineering and Technology, 2 Savoy Place, London WC2.

The Duke of York, Founder, Pitch@Palace, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Confederation of Indian Industry.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Financial Services Dinner at the Wellcome Trust, Gibbs Building, 215 Euston Road, London NW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today carried out the following engagements to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary.

His Royal Highness this morning visited Netherurd Girlguiding Activity Centre, Blyth Bridge, West Linton, Peeblesshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tweeddale (Professor Sir Hew Strachan).

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon visited the Lochgoilhead National Activity Centre, Shelter Park, Lochgoilhead, Argyll, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute (Mr Patrick Stewart).

His Royal Highness later visited Fort William Railway Station and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Inverness (Donald Cameron of Lochiel).

The Earl of Wessex afterwards visited Speyside Way at Fochabers and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Moray (Lieutenant Colonel Grenville Johnston).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner near Brechin.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, this afternoon opened the University of Edinburgh’s Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine at Western General Hospital, Crewe Road, Edinburgh, and was received by Dame Susan Bruce (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Society of Antiquaries of London, this afternoon received Ms. Gillian Andrews (President) and Mr Dominic Wallis (Head of Development).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Global Heritage Fund UK, this evening attended a screening of “the Destruction of Memory: the War Against Culture and the Battle to Save It” at NBC Universal, 1 Central St. Giles, St. Giles High Street, London WC2.
