The Queen, Patron, this morning presented Royal Medals at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 22-26 George Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost) and the President (Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell).

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Global Reach Challenge, this morning received Mr Anton Bowring (Expedition Chairman) and Sir Ranulph Fiennes (Expedition Team Leader). His Royal Highness, Chairman, the Royal Collection Trust, afterwards chaired a Meeting of the Trustees.

Prince Henry of Wales, Patron, WellChild, this morning visited a WellChild Helping Hands Project in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

His Royal Highness, Patron, WellChild, afterwards visited a WellChild Nurse and Families at Leeds Children’s Hospital, Clarendon Wing, Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dame Ingrid Roscoe).

Prince Henry of Wales later visited Haribo, Whitwood Common Lane, Castleford, West Yorkshire.

The Duke of York, Patron, Omani-British Business Council, this afternoon held a Reception for supporters.

The Princess Royal today carried out the following engagements in Changsa, China.

Her Royal Highness this morning opened Changsha Meixihu International Culture and Arts Centre, Meixi Lake International New Town, and was received by Her Majesty’s Consul-General for Guangzhou (Mr Matthew Rous).

The Princess Royal later attended a Ceremony to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific research between the Yanghu Wetlands Centre, WWF UK and HSBC at Meixi Lake Hotel.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon received Mr Du Jiahao (Party Secretary of Hunan Province) at Meixi Lake Hotel.

The Princess Royal afterwards attended a Queen’s Birthday Party Reception at Meixi Lake Hotel.

Her Royal Highness later opened the Children’s Palliative Care in China — Spreading the Hope Conference, Number One Changsha Social Welfare Institute.

The Princess Royal subsequently visited the Butterfly Home Children’s Hospice, Number One Changsha Social Welfare Institute.

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of London, later visited Hunan University.

The Princess Royal this evening departed from Changsha International Airport for the United Kingdom.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Royal Colonel, this morning took the salute at 1st Battalion The Rifles’ Freedom Parade in Chepstow and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent (Brigadier Robert Aitkin).

His Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, this afternoon visited 1st Battalion The Rifles at Beachley Barracks, Beachley, Chepstow.
