COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Mr Julian Evans was received by The Queen this morning upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps and delivered up to Her Majesty his Chain of Office.

Mr Neil Holland was received by Her Majesty and received his Chain of Office upon his appointment as Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps.

His Excellency Mr Igor Pokaz was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Croatia to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Pokaz was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Lars Thuesen was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Kingdom of Denmark to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Jeanine Arreguin Ayerdi was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP (Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport), the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP (Secretary of State for Northern Ireland) and the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP (Secretary of State for Health).

The Lord Keen of Elie, the Rt Hon Sir Andrew Moylan, the Rt Hon Julian Smith MP
and the Rt Hon Sir Benjamin Stephens were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Sir Donnell Deeny and the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP made affirmation as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office as Secretary of State for International Development.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir Simon Bowes Lyon at the Funeral of Davina, Countess of Stair, which was held at Inch Church, Castle Kennedy, Stranraer, today.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon held a Reception for Charity Next at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, President, the Royal Drawing School, later held a Meeting.

The Prince of Wales, President, this evening visited the Royal Drawing School’s Annual Exhibition at Christie’s, 8 King Street, London SW1.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, National Osteoporosis Society, this evening attended the Bruce Oldfield Fashion Show, Lancaster House, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Mrs Morfudd Meredith (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan) at the Funeral Service of Mr John Wynford Evans (formerly Deputy Chairman, The Prince of Wales Committee) which was held in St Mary’s Church, St Fagans, Cardiff, this afternoon.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this afternoon attended the opening of the Terrence Higgins Trust HIV Testing Pop-up Shop on Hackney Walk, Morning Lane, London E9, and was received by Lieutenant Colonel Roderick Morriss (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness this evening held a Dinner for the Gurkha Welfare Trust at Kensington Palace.

The Duke of York this morning departed Heathrow Airport, London, for Mexico.

Mrs Amanda Thirsk is in attendance.

His Royal Highness, Patron, National Youth Theatre, this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Club at the Ivy, West Street, London WC2, followed by a performance of Othello at the Ambassadors Theatre, West Street, London WC2.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Ambassador, today attended the Women of the Future Summit at the London Hilton on Park Lane, London W1, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Princess Royal, President, Racing Welfare, this morning attended the Anne, Duchess of Westminster Charity Raceday Luncheon at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, Overton Road, Bangor-on-Dee, Wrexham, Denbighshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Clwyd (Mr Henry Fetherstone-Haugh).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon opened the Centre for Equine Learning and Therapy, Clwyd Special Riding Centre, Llanfynydd, Wrexham.

The Duke of Gloucester, Member, St George’s Chapel Advisory Committee, this morning attended a College and Chapel of St George’s Fabric Advisory Committee Meeting at Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Gloucester and The Duchess of Gloucester, President, this evening held a Dinner for the Royal Academy of Music at Kensington Palace.
