Buckingham Palace

Mr. Christopher Heaton-Harris MP was received by The Queen today when he delivered up his Wand of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Comptroller of the Household.

Mr. Mark Spencer MP was received by The Queen and delivered up his Wand of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household when Her Majesty handed to him his Wand of Office as Comptroller of the Household.

Mr. Andrew Stephenson MP was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household when Her Majesty handed to him his Wand of Office.

Sir Timothy Barrow was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as United Kingdom Permanent Representative to the European Union in Brussels.

Ms. Alison Watts was also received by Her Majesty.

The following members of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The Queen: Lieutenant Colonel Peter Browne who delivered up his Stick of Office upon his retirement as Standard Bearer, Major David Kennard who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Harbinger and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Standard Bearer, and Major Charles Macfarlane who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Harbinger of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were received this morning by The President of the Republic of the Gambia and Mrs. Fatou Bah-Barrow at the State House, Banjul.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards attended an Official Welcome Ceremony in McCarthy Square, Banjul.

The Prince of Wales today visited the Medical Research Council Unit, Serekunda.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Gambian Armed Forces Training School, Fajara.

The Prince of Wales, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, later visited the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery, Fajara, and laid a wreath.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Meeting on sustainable business, at Ngala Lodge, Fajara.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were entertained at a State Dinner this evening by The President of the Republic of the Gambia and Mrs. Fatou Bah-Barrow at the Coco Ocean Hotel, Serekunda.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Vice Patron, the Royal Commonwealth Society, this morning attended an essay writing workshop for The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition at St. Therese’s School, Banjul.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Big Lunch, this afternoon attended a Commonwealth Big Lunch at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Fajara.

His Royal Highness this afternoon called upon Mr. Wang Weizhong (Communist Party Secretary for Shenzhen) and attended a Luncheon at Shenzhen Government Wuzhou Guesthouse, Shenzhen.

The Earl of Wessex this morning attended a Meeting with The President of the Republic of Ghana at the Labadi Beach Hotel, La Road, Accra, Ghana.

The Duke of Kent this evening attended the Tour de Legacy Reception at the Australian High Commission, Australia House, Strand, London WC2, to commemorate the Centenary of ANZAC and of the Armistice and was received by Mr. Matthew Anderson (Deputy High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Australia).
