Buckingham Palace

Mrs Justice Cockerill, Mrs Justice Cutts and Mrs Justice Lambert were received by The Queen today upon their appointment as Justices of the High Court when Her Majesty invested them with the Insignia of Dames Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Mr Justice Butcher, Mr Justice Fancourt, Mr Justice Jacobs, Mr Justice McAlinden, Mr Justice Swift and Mr Justice Zacaroli were received by The Queen upon their appointment as Justices of the High Court when Her Majesty conferred upon them the honour of Knighthood and invested them with the Insignia of Knights Bachelor.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, this morning visited the British Film Institute, Southbank, London SE1, and was received by Mrs Rosemary Prescott (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, President, the Royal College of Music, afterwards held a Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the National Gallery, this evening visited the Mantegna and Bellini Exhibition at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, and was received by Vice Admiral Sir Adrian Johns (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, Patron, World Jewish Relief, later held a Dinner at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, this afternoon received children and young people from Helen and Douglas House and helped them to decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Coutts and Company, 440 Strand, London WC2.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, afterwards attended a performance at the Garrick Theatre, 2 Charing Cross Road, London WC2.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business Committee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening held a Fifteenth Anniversary Reception and Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, President, UK Fashion and Textile Association, this morning opened Goral and Son Limited, 35 Spital Hill, Sheffield, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr Andrew Coombe).

Her Royal Highness, President, Racing Welfare, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at York Racecourse and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs Johanna Ropner).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Royal Three Counties Show, later attended the Sixtieth Anniversary Reception at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire (Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Holcroft).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal President, the Children’s Society, this afternoon attended a Service in Salisbury Cathedral to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of Christingle and was received by Lieutenant General Sir Roderick Cordy-Simpson (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire).

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner in the presence of The Queen of Denmark at the Dorchester Hotel, 53 Park Lane, London W1, to celebrate the formation of the Danish-UK Association.
